Hi all,

Just a quick question. Can we really choose our own Power cards (2 At Will, 2 Utility and 2 Daily (lvl 2))? Or do we still have to conform to the thing that's on the character card? Eg Alaeros must always use Battleaxe, etc.

I just thought it's a bit limiting if you're stuck with some of the same powers everytime.

Thanks in advance!

From page 14 of the rulebook.
Quote:
Choosing Power Cards
Once you have a better understanding of the game, you don’t
have to stick to the suggested Power cards for your Hero listed
in the front of the adventure book. Each 1st-Level Hero card
tells you how many powers of each type you get—you can
choose which At-Will, Utility, and Daily Power cards you want
for any particular adventure.
For a slightly easier game, choose the Power cards you want.
This way you can set up the perfect balance of powers and you’ll
know exactly what to expect from your Hero.
For a slightly more challenging game, choose your Power cards
in each category randomly. You’ll have the fun of figuring out
how to get the most out of surprising combinations of powers
using this method of selection.

I hope that answers your question.

Yeah I saw that. But I was sure I read it somewhere that you'd still have to stick to the first (or first 2) Power cards as per the character card, THEN you can freely choose the other ones.

Anyway, thanks for that.

It's your game, play it how you think best. I'm pretty sure there isn't anything in the rules that says otherwise.

While it makes thematic sense for Alaeros to include his Battleaxe, there really is no reason to have to stick with that.

I tend to use the named Power card as written on the Hero card, even with that restriction, there's still plenty of choice I think.

But if a player wanted change, I don't see an issue.
