Or am I panicking? No, knowing Games Workshop's previous form I think I'll download a copy of the FAQs for all the GW games I own just in case.

Starting with Chaos....

I just thought I'd share this realisation.

This is a very good idea. When FFG removes things from its catalogue, everything disappears. Even digital rulebooks will be impossible to get.

FFG keeps rulebooks and FAQs on an archive page after their licensing deals are up or their lines end. They don't disappear.

True, but this is GW who are notoriously heavy handed.

I believe that even if FFG delete file from their website it will be available on BGG. "If something appeared in the Internet, it will be there forever."

Yeah, but they most likely don't own FFG's rules.

Yeah, but they most likely don't own FFG's rules.

And BGG has been forced to take down copyrighted material in the past. i think it a good idea to download all content you can ... just in case.

FFG and/or GW would be a real jerk to take digital rules/FAQ off of BGG.

BGG is not FFG and this situation isn't at all the same. Whatever GW can demand regarding FFG's licensed GW titles is most likely a matter of their contract.

This is good advice. It cannot harm to be prepared for lawyers fucking everything up for everyone else again.

Just look at the files section for the original 'The Fury of Dracula'... there isn't one!

Try FFG's archives. Dracula is there.

Games Workshop requested the removal of about a half-dozen or so files the company believed infringed on its IP. BGG responded by yanking all fan-made files. What you just described ... never happened.

Wait, people don't just download all the rulebooks for all the games they have automatically? Everyone doesn't have an 8 gig folder of manuals backed up in several locations?

There are a few print and play games in there, some of those can get big.
