I just looked at the layout of the Artisan District board...
It seems that the small 2x3 squares room in the bottom right block does not have a dashed line to place a door, although it is marked as a search area.

The two sections at the bottom of the same block (4x1 and 2x1) don't seem to be searchable areas, so it should be okay that they have no access.

Do you mean the use of the smoke bomb? Or is there any other way to pass through walls?
What if the ninja player doesn't ever get those bomb (the item deck is unlikely to be played through) and the guard player placed a vital marker in this room? It would be an unfair move, so he wouldn't place it there... so what would be the point to have the doorless room as a searchable area?

You could either houserule no placement there, or allow it to give the Guard player an edge, putting a high objective marker in there. On the other hand, doing so would give the ninjas knowledge of a secret goodie stash, so they might smoke bomb in there. But wait! The guard bluffed you, and now you triggered a trap.

Doesn't seem bad to me.

Shouldn't have the red, it was a mistake. It is not a permissable search area.

However house rules as mentioned would work fine, just agree before starting or play as intended with no search area, whatever you and your game group prefers.
