Epic Dice TD will be simple to turn into a solo game. Players will face off against preset characters with special abilities who always make the same buying choices. Eventually, these characters will get their own cards, and be organized by difficulty to create a campaign setting. Solo play is elimination style. (helps keep abilities consistent).

I thought it would be fun to let backers throw around some ideas and create their own characters. If we happen to use your idea in the future, we will compensate you with free product (depending on the value of the idea).

Here's a couple example characters. Please follow the below format, so it's easy to pick the characters out of your comments. Feel free to use any revealed minions, not just those that have been unlocked.




GRUND the ORC COMMANDER
Special ability: orc raiders do not return to the supply after using their ability.
Buy phase: 1 gold on towers, 4 gold on orcs. You may not buy orcs.
Attack phase: Roll randomly to determine the target lane. Always attacks with both waves of orcs on the same lane.

SKREE the GOBLIN KING
Special ability: When goblins are rolled for scoring, they join the zombie wave as bonus minions.
Buy phase: 2 gold on towers, 2 gold on goblins, 1 gold on zombies
Attack phase: Attacks the lane with the weakest tower total with wave of goblins. Second attack against same lane with any bonus goblins. Final attack on same lane with zombies.

ROX and JAX the ETTIN (two-headed troll)
Special ability: 12 health and 6 gold.
Buy phase: 1 gold on haste, 1 gold on rage, 2 gold on slime/goblin wave, 2 gold on orc/zombie wave.
Attack phase: Randomly attacks a lane. Rage is always used on the orc/zombie wave.

FEROS the IRON GOLEM
Special ability: Keep towers are level 6. Feros may perform 3 construction actions for 1 gold.
Buy phase: 1 gold on towers, 2 gold on trolls, 2 gold on zombie/were-rat wave
Attack phase: Always attacks the lane with the highest tower total. If the were-rat steals gold, this money is spent on necromancy.

BLACK ICE the NECROMANCER
Special ability: If all zombies are killed or returned to the supply during the attack phase, BLACK ICE recieves a free additional Demon during the next round.
Buy phase: 1 gold on towers, 1 gold on necromancy spell, 1 gold on Demon (wave 1), 2 gold on zombies (wave 2). You may not buy zombies.
Attack phase: Demon attacks the lane with the highest tower total while all zombies attack the other lane.

A necromancer sounds fun. Preventing zombies is a good twist. I'd like to test out this ability on him, though: Toxic Zombies - Zombies are immune to the effects of Miasma and Dead Zone. Since you're pairing him with the demon, this would make him scary!

Probably over-powered, but that makes it a challenge!

DRACONN the BEASTMASTER
Special ability: All units are untargetable by other units.
Buy phase: 1+ gold on towers, Dragon and Wererat (wave 1), Giant Spider and Kobold Sapper (wave 2). You may not buy 1 unit minions.
Attack phase: Wave 1 attacks the lane with the lowest tower while wave 2 attacks the other lane.

As more minions are unlocked, they could be added to a free bonus wave. (Or maybe the Demon goes in the bonus wave, Eagle with the Dragon... etc)

Gold from the Wererat would be used on another tower action.

My son really wants a Rival that only uses the solo minions.

The idea of having a special ability that you can't kill minions will need to be worked in somewhere. That will solve some issues. It's very difficult to not make orcs or harpies the best strategy.

Yes, I meant that this is a good idea for a special ability, and it will need to be worked into a Rival card. It is a good way to change strategies around.

DRACO the DRAGONMAGE
Special Ability: Gets 2 Dragons per buy
Buy Phase: 1 gold on towers, 2 gold on spells, 2 gold on dragons. You may not buy dragons.
Attack Phase: Always attacks the lane with the most towers.

LUPINE the WARGRIDER
Special Ability: Wolves are rerolled once per wave if they do not roll an effect or a 5.
Buy Phase: 1 gold on towers, 2 gold for wolf/goblin wave 1, 2 gold for wolf/goblin wave 2
Attack Phase: Randomly selects a lane, and attacks the lane with both waves.

I really like the idea of a Warg Rider rival! Rerolling for Wolves is okay except it's a little redundant with the Rage Spell. What if when Goblins and Wolves are rolled within the same wave their abilities are interchangeable when either rolls an icon? OR, When a Goblin uses the Regroup ability you may choose a Wolf minion as a target of that ability as well and when a Wolf uses the Howl ability you may choose a Goblin minion as a target of that ability as well? Such synergy would be very evocative of the teamwork found between mount and rider!

Long Fang the Warg Rider

Special Ability: Goblins may be targeted with the Howl ability and when a Goblin returns to a wave due to the Regroup ability a Wolf minion can additionally be targeted by that effect.

Buy Phase: 2 tower actions
1 unit of Goblins and 1 unit of Wolves (Wave1) 1unit of Goblins and 1 unit of Wolves (Wave 2)
Restricted: You may not purchase Goblins or Wolves.

Attack Phase: Both waves attack the lane with the lowest tower total. Goblins and Wolves are rolled together ignoring the Wolves Fast ability.
