I'm wondering if there are any of those great shows where publishers come to show off and sell their games in the southern california area. Do these things tour around? Are they always in a certain city?

Thanks.

The best place to show off your games in Los Angeles specifically is the Strategicon game conventions. The next one (Gamex 2007) is coming up at the end of this month at the Westin near LAX. For more information, check out: www.strategicon.net. There is also Gateway 2007 over the Labor Day weekend and Orccon over President's Day weekend, too.

As for trade shows, GAMA and Games Expo are both in Vegas. Otherwise, there are toy shows in NYC, Chicago and a few other places throughout the year. San Diego Comic Con is also an event where a lot of buzz for 'geeky' stuff is built.

In addition to what's been mentioned, there has been a growing gaming presence at the San Diego ComicCon each year.
