Ta-Seti expansion.
This variant is for those that did not like the Ta-Seti extra board but would still like to use at least some of the components from the expansion in a regular game of Kemet.

TARIFF VARIANT 2.0

Use Dawn Phase mechanic from expansion (ie play battlecards)

At start of game place a object tile face down on each temple and in each start area. These are gained immediately by a player entering one of the temples for the first time or entering a enemy's city. These are not replenished.

During the Attribute PP and Permanent VP phase: If a player occupies a temple he may spend 3 prayer points to either upgrade one of his units there to a priest or take a skill token from the face down stack next to the board. You may only take a skill tile if you already have at least one priest). All normal rules for skills and priests apply.

This seems quite thematic to me.

Still undecided on end condition (start or end of round. Using the dawn phase bidding process i think im leaning toward the win condition from the base game, ie: Win at start of turn.

Interesting idea. Though I don't know that the game needs any more incentive to attack enemy cities or take temples. Thematic though it may be, I think it would just cause problems in the early and mid game.

Are there a lot of people that don't like the Path to Tai Set?

I really like the idea of being able to use ta seti components without the board and the hassle...

Just ideas so far (brainstorming mode)
You could really split the items in sub-modules:
1- Priests and skills
2- Objects (level 1 and 2)

Some ideas I got:

- Attachpriests to Pyramids -> Whenever a pyramis gets to level 4 you get a priest and 1 skill, skills could be either randomized or assigned to the most relevant colors. This is thematic as well and there are 3 priests and 3 possible pyramids. if the priest is killed you can recruit one by spending the upgrade pyramid action on a level 4 pyramid... If a pyramid is captured it does not affect the prie

- Objects: Level 1 objects are given at the start of the game 1 per player to provide player asymetry (might also condition game strategy a bit which some players disclike)

- Objects level 2- Get 1 when you capture an enemy level 4 pyramid?
