What happens when an opponent moves into an area with a human control token (placed there by air strip), no human units, and a trog token? A battle takes place, yes, but if the opponent loses, does the human control token stay?

During the Battle Phase, control objective a new controller will be determined.

If the Trogs win, the Human control marker is removed, and the Trogs place a Trog token as normal, and put their minis back into the Trog reserve.

If the opponent's faction win, they replace the Human control marker with their own.

The only way in which the Human control token remains is if the Humans win the Territory control objective. If the battle is between two factions other than humans, there is 0% chance for the humans to maintain control. It isn't possible.

Do the Human's lose their control token prior to the battle? Or do they have control until the battle is over? Might matter for scoring based on a Human skill.

The latest instruction from Portal is that the Human's control marker stays until the end of the battle.

Control is changed during the Battle Phase, after the Territory Control Objective is resolved. So the Humans would have control until that point.
