Hi all. I'm looking for games that have a mechanic wherein all players have a chance to influence the movement of either a universal token, or each other's. As a simplistic hypothetical example, imagine a roll and move board game where a a token sits in the middle of a path and Player A rolls a die and moves said token to his side, while Player B rolls a die and moves the same token to his side. Thanks.

In Hansa and Entdecker: Exploring New Horizons everyone controls the same ship.
In Times Square everyone plays 'tug of war' with the same tokens.

Piranha Pedro and Fearsome Floors immediately spring to mind.

In Piranha Pedro, the players in turn move Pedro, and are trying not to be the pleyer who sends him into the drink.

In Fearsome Floors, there is a roaming monster ("Furunkulus") who follows a well-known movement algorithm based on what he can 'see', and players manipulate how Furunkulus moves by moving their own tokens and obstructions into or out of his line of sight (and, optimtmally, to ;lure' Furunkulus into a situation where he will destroy the other players' tokens).

More I've thought of:

Pueblo: Every turn, each player moves the Chieftain.

Kill Doctor Lucky - your movement cards can be used to move yourself, or move the non-player Doctor Lucky.

There are plenty of games where there's one 'piece' that each player can move under specific circumstances. The King in Torres or El Grande, the robber in Settlers of Catan, the Dragon in Emerald, the Fairy in that Carcassonne expansion, Devil Bunny in Devils Bunny Needs a Ham. Not sure if that's what you're looking for, though.

There are also some games where unowned pieces are 'communal' and any player can use them - the first that comes to mind for me is Die Magier von Pangea.

Shear Panic is a title where you'll often be moving your opponent's pieces around, rather than (or in addition to) your own. There's also an unowned sheep you'll often find yourself moving.

Louie in Loopin Louie! (OK, it's a bit of a stretch... )

Re: Games where all try to influence the same movement token
Kill Doctor Lucky was the first thing I thought of.

In Martian Chess, where the pieces are on the board determines who owns them. So I can move a piece on my quadrant to capture an opponents piece, but the piece I moved is now theirs because it's now in their quadrant.

I guess the provost in Caylus qualifies, but that's like the robber in settlers (that someone above mentioned). It's not the main part of the game.

This sounds like good potential for a geeklist. Dragon Parade and Heimlich & Co. sound like they fit the bill for what you are looking for.

Vector, both players try to influence a single pawn

Gyges (?) the pieces are all neutral, players can only move those in the row closest to themselves.

What about the 'ball' in StreetSoccer? Or the Provost in Caylus? They are both pieces owned by no-one, movable by anyone, and having direct impact on the outcome of the game.

Something like this happens with livestock in Roads and Boats, doesn't it?

It's loose, but War On Terror allows for the manipulation of a whole faction (the terrorists) by all the players.

Eventually, all players - save one - will have joined the terrorists. That one remaining Empire playing player can still move (or otherwise manipulate) the terrorists if they have the right cards to do so.
