I have created a page to help people find the events and publishers:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/717549378384000/

Submission are now open for attending the Designer/Publisher Speed Dating at BGG.CON 2016. You MUST apply here:

https://goo.gl/forms/kttHp5k17WuTwAOt2

The event is free but you are only allowed to present to publishers if you're pre-approved for a table to setup at. Since we have 3 nights and 12 tables each night, I suspect we'll have room for most everyone this time around.

Submit by October 23rd please.

Hi James!

Why are games that have been through successful crowdfunding not allowed? Is it because publishers aren't interested or to give budding designers a chance to meet publishers?

Thank you for organizing all the same and all your helpful tips online!

It's more that games that are currently in crowd funding or have already funded that are not allowed. Ones that have failed are welcome - but usually, if you're that far a lot of the art is there and the Publisher may not like using your art and if you couldn't fund there may be more reason than just your lack of exposure. But you're welcome to apply if you attempted funding and failed. Just not during funding or if you already funded.

Thank you for the prompt reply!

I'm very happy to say I funded and totally understand the line of thought. I'm open to new art and one of the things I'm very glad to have learned through the crowdfunding process is the publisher side of things. Having said that, I was interested in working with a publisher moving forward in bringing my game to more people as I've learned a lot of that is beyond my reach. But there's plenty of other avenues I can explore to find the best publisher for that.

Thank you James!

Congrats on your funding. But DPSD is not a place for someone looking to just grow their player base after a successful funding by teaming with a publisher. You should do fine contacting publishers directly. So, sorry your game is not qualified for this event.

I know this is way late (October just flew by!), but I just have to check if there are still any openings?

Thanks.

Nope. It's filled up. But you can swing by at 8pm on Wed & Thr on the 11th floor to drop off flyers or hope for a no-show to fill in.
