It's been mentioned by other players that Artifacts should have other effects other than simply having a point-scoring value. Here are some of my thoughts on each one. Other ideas and suggestions are welcome, of course.

For anything that is mentioned as 'Treasure', I suggest the following:
Forfeit artifact. Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with mercenaries. You may keep the artifact if no one is Awed.

Cro-Magnon spear head
-

Egyptian necklace
Treasure.

Trojan bracelet
Treasure

Chaldean coins
Treasure

Hoplite crest insignia
Gain a second additional experience point if this item is carried by the Tripper. Experience is also gained for completing this stage.

Libyan knife
Attack 3, similar to bayonet

Roman good luck charm
Treasure
You may reroll any result once during each battle you warp to.

Gallic arm bracelet
Treasure

Ostrogoth ring
Treasure

Viking insignia
Gain a second additional experience point if this item is carried by the Tripper. Experience is also gained for completing this stage.

Magyar lasso
Hang 'em high.

Norman dagger
Attack 3, similar to a bayonet rather than a sword.

Seljuk dagger
Attack 3, similar to a bayonet rather than a sword.

Mongolian cape
Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with nomads.

Yeoman necklace (x2)
Treasure

German hat
A flamboyant tellerbarret used to signify a pompous ego or overconfident mercenary. May have been worn over a steel skull cap. Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with socially-elite soldiers, Knights, Officers, etc.

Swedish boot
Are these the knee high brown or black leather cavalry jack-boots?
Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with natives or ancient troops that do not have footwear.

Bavarian uniform buttons
Buttons were a sign of social status during this era and were collected and reused by many.

American powder horn
May reload any captured musket once.

Zulu assegai fragments
-

Union documents
Paperwork. Stolen. What if these were actually Lee's lost orders?

Sioux beadwork
Necklace or bracelet of beads and/or feathers, a dream catcher? Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with the Zulus since they have some flamboyant necklaces of their own.

German documents
More paperwork, perhaps officer's orders, battle tactics, love letters, records of a soldiers pay-book, satirical cartoon drawing of the enemy, etc. Could be used as Nazi propaganda. Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with Fugitive German Infantry.

French postcards
Probably some panoramic scenes of the Arc de Triumph, Eiffel tower or other luscious countryside, vineyard, etc. Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with French Hussars or anyone else who sympathized with the French.
Nude pictures.

Cossack cap
Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with nomads.

Flask of wine
Its true that alcohol was used by wounded soldiers to numb pain. Obviously they won't shoot straight with copious amounts.
Forfeit artifact, immediately recover 2D worth of Endurance. Subtract one from the dice roll when making an Accuracy roll for the remainder of this battle.

Copy of Pravda
Soviet propaganda paper. Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with communist sympathizers. Could also be used as toiletry.

Tin of beef
Forfeit artifact, immediately recover 1D worth of Endurance

Iron cross
May be used as a pseudo-religious icon. Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with medieval Christian sympathizers.

Katana
More likely a fake katana, the machined shin gunto. Attack of 5 if used in two hands by the Tripper.

Cap insignia
Gain a second additional experience point if this item is carried by the Tripper. Experience is also gained for completing this stage.

I.D. Bracelet
-

Angel colors
Sashes were used to indicate allegiances. Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with soldiers from the Thirty Years War.

Some EGI drugs
Forfeit artifact, immediately recover 1D worth of Endurance

Police manual
Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with Time Police.

Starsoldier crest
Gain a second additional experience point if this item is carried by the Tripper. Experience is also gained for completing this stage.

Finger with two nails
Forfeit artifact. Toss Finger with two nails on the ground. On the next turn, a Mutant Spearmen immediately grows from the dismembered phalanges and is Awed by the Tripper, and under his control.

Magician's wand
Medieval lords wielded a wand as a symbol of their power and position, and more-or-less their religion. Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with medieval warriors.

Dragon's nostril
Proof that the Tripper slayed the dragon from the medieval myths and folklore. The dragon actually exists! Add two to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with medieval warriors.

Buffalo chip
As primarily a scavenger, Tyrannosaurus Rex is attracted to rotting carcases. Add one to the die roll when determining Detection if the Tripper is carrying this artifact.

Bionic eyeball
Forfeit artifact. May be used as a fragmentation grenade if set to self destruct? Attack of 12/8/6?

Handmaiden's whip
Attack 2 as a simple whip. Perhaps there's some other Demonic quality attached or cursed upon it. Any ideas?

Brass knuckles
Attack 2 by itself. Combine with the bayonet for an Attack of 4.
Is having these combined better than using a typical short arming sword found at any other stage? Probably not.

Shark tooth
-

Weird animal parts
Distractive kibble for the Tyrannosaurus or Sabre Tooth Cat. Forfeit artifact, Subtract one from the die roll when determining Detection for the rest of the battle.

Zapper
The zapper doesn't work.
Perhaps its one of those that's shaped like a baton, in which case you should combine it with the Bionic Eyeball to make the 'Staff of All Seeing'.

Drindl's nose ring
I wonder if the nose is still attached?
Could have the same effect as the Dragon's Nostril.

Timepolice coffee mug
Is there any coffee in it?
Will probably end up on the shelf of a second-hand thrift store for $1.

Communist Party card
Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with Soviet or Chinese communist sympathizers. Do Fascist sympathizers count too?

Timepolice belt buckle
Combine with pair of Swedish Boots.
Combine with Cossack Cap.
Combine with Magyar Lasso.
Combine with Handmaiden's Whip.
Now jump to Buffalo Castle.
Compete in rodeo.

Timelord's ring
Forfeit artifact. Add one to the die roll when determining which letter to use when Negotiating with mercenaries. You may keep the artifact if no one is Awed.

Vampire's cape
Not to be mistaken for Superman's cape.
You may attempt to Negotiate with Killed soldiers once per battle. Make a Negotiation attempt as normal using their actual rating. Awed units are risen from the dead and are treated as soldiers under the Trippers control.

Copy of Zap #0
Some 70's reference or parody?

LOL!

"French Postcards" were "dirty pictures" of naked women at the turn of 20th century.
