Thanks for caring-- I'm so glad that I asked.

A shout-out to Kansas City, Mo. today, for the beer that I had yesterday:
The Sixth Glass (Quadrupel Belgian-style)
Boulevard Brewing Co.

At 10% ABV, it's pretty close to drinking an entire bottle of wine to yourself.

Yummy.

I have a scottish 40 shilling that I bottled last year. The keg of this stuff ran dry last december so nice to find a bottle tucked away in the cold storage.

It was only 5.4%abv, but considering I live in Utah that is higher than anything I can pick up without going to a liquor store. I think this coming weekend is going to be a braggot that I recently bottled. It is at 13.85%abv.

Six Rivers Macadamia Nut Porter, my favorite beer ever (replacing Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat), watching the debate at Richard's Goat.

After that, more Macadamia Nut Porter at Arcata Pizza Deli (whose menu, incidentally, is where Hellhammer got her middle name from).

You're welcome! - KC, MO

I thought about having a beer yesterday but was too tired to go to the refrigerator to get one so instead I just sat there day-dreaming about beer. This scenario will probably repeat again tonight so have one for me please!

I haven't had a beer since Super Bowl 50. I'm mostly a dry cider and whiskey man these days (often mixed together).

Bud Light, because I appreciate the finer things in life.

My dad used (still?) to make 16-20% beer... god it was disgusting... but efficient.

If I have a beer (and I did) this is almost always the answer.

I was drinking Sambrooks Pumphouse Pale Ale, on draft at my local "boozer", as we say in North London. It's aprox. 4% abv, but I'm all about session beers!

Sambrooks is a fine micro brewery based at Battersea, just south of the river, and are dear to me. Erm, might be slightly flying my own flag here, but they started off in just one small unit on a local light industrial/retail park there, and I was working around the corner - as in they were the other side of our back yard. I just happened to be at the end of my thirteen or so years in the wine trade at the time; I was working at my company's flagship store, mainly doing wholesale, but also selling fine wines, single malts and real/craft ales retail. Anyway...Sambrooks had a brewery tap "bar" in their loading bay and we did regular tastings, so where the hell else were we going to end up at lunchtime/end of shift? They started bottling their beers, and I had a bright idea...long story short, I helped set up a scheme whereby each of our 100 or so stores could budget, buy in and sell local ales, all their own choices. Sambrooks was pride of place at our's; I could wheel our order over on an old school railway porter's trolley twice a week! Sweet, sweet beer...

That is what I had on Saturday at the Beerfest. I knew it was a Porter, but didn't remember the whole name. I kept going back to the Six Rivers table to try it. It was very good.

To the OP....I had Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest

What dry cider do you drink? My wife loves dry cider but she has had trouble finding something good after Strongbow inexplicably decided to change its recipe to a god-awful, saccharin-sweet concoction (and I think only here in the U.S.).

Anything where the only ingredient is apples. (If the only ingredient is apple cider, it's sweetened).

Trader Joe's has a good one: Dan Armor Brut cider. It's in the fridge case and looks like champagne. It's $5 for a 750mL bottle.

One of the things I miss from NYC is Bad Seed cider. None of theirs had added sugar, and one variety had hops in it.

A local brew, last night.

Basically a brown ale. Nothing too special, but a solid choice.
