The only map other than this that I like is TTR original, but even that was meh, and I sold it a while back. I dont like the Europe map and dont care for Marklin, and I think Id only want to play this map alone and dont want to buy the base game just to play with this.

Also, even if I did get TTR, itd be annoying to buy 1910 for the big cards too.

If I could buy the 10th anniversary set and use it with this, I think I wouldnt mind, but I know the trains wouldnt fit. Any thughts?

Btw, can someone tell me the components of this game?

The components are listed in the Community Wiki section at the bottom of the game page overview.

DOW sell replacement train cards, but not the carriages.
You could use third party meeples.

You get:

Double-sided map
Rules
Wooden card holders
2 sets of tickets (1 for each side)
Small number of trains (needed for team game, but not enough to play otherwise)

Components needed from base game:

Rest of the trains
Score markers (though these are not required obviously)
Train cards

Thoughts:

Get train cards
Proxy trains, with meeples as suggested above, maybe some of these colored stones people get for MtG or just print something out if you need to (or just suck it up and buy the base game back).

In the interest of giving credit where credit is due, my avatar is a scan of a hand-drawn caricature by cartoonist Jim Naylor which was done at my company's 20th anniversary dinner.

Mayday sell sets of Wooden train pieces which work with TTR (my brother uses them instead of the plastic ones).

I'd get them from boardgameextras.co.uk if you want to see what they look like - but I'd imagine there must be US suppliers that would work out cheaper for you.

You can get the train cards if you also buy the 1910 expansion.

Then you'd just be missing the rest of the plastic trains...

ebay seller gameshelf sells train pieces for about $5.00 per color. You'd probably be better off finding a used copy of TTR.

Damn. I can't even just get the Anniversary edition because the trains won't match/fit...sigh. And forcing it would be inelegant.

Is there a good iOS app implementation?

TtR online (iOS, Android, maybe web too?) has Legendary Asia, but not Team Asia, AFAIK.
