INTRODUCTION


This is a variant game, which strives to provide a more interesting, tense, and varied experience that is closer to the ASOIAF world and characters. The map has been designed to facilitate a more fluid and dynamic game: there are more opportunities, complexities, and viable strategies than the standard edition board game. Even experienced players may find that they need to modify their standard tactics. This may be particularly true for the opening stages, where there is a far wider range of opening gambits than players may be used to. Some of these can be particularly aggressive, and players are recommended to bear this in mind when planning their strategies.

The Setting of this Variant


King Robert Baratheon is dead, and House Baratheon has been divided by his death. His eldest son, Joffrey Baratheon, is not really his son, but the product of his wife Cersei and her brother Jaime Lannister. Joffrey is therefore a false heir, and although House Lannister loudly dismiss the rumours of his origin, it is an open secret between many that Joffrey's claim to the throne is based on bluster, not substance. Despite this, Joffrey and those close to his cause continue to assert his claim to have united House Baratheon and House Lannister under his new royal standard.

This is not the case, however, as Robert's two brothers, Stannis and Renly, have also raised their own Baratheon standards and split House Baratheon even further.

Stannis has raised his royal standard at Dragonstone, and as the eldest brother to the dead King Robert sees himself as the only legitimate heir now in light of Joffrey's origins. Stannis' single-mindedness is compounded by the encouragement of the priestess Melisandre, an adherent of the Lord of Light religion. This religion has swept through many of his household, and now Stannis' banner shows the stag of Baratheon proudly placed in the middle of the flaming heart of the Lord of Light.

The youngest Baratheon brother, Renly, who cares little about Stannis' claim, has quickly married into wealthy House Tyrell and has crowned himself the King in Highgarden. By marrying Margaery Tyrell, Renly now combines the stag of Baratheon with the rich green and gold of House Tyrell.

Aside from any arguments over his legitimacy or the reaction of the two Baratheon brothers, Joffrey is poorly suited to kingship. Before Robert Baratheon died, he had asked his close friend Eddard of House Stark to act as Protector of the Realm. Eddard was well aware that Joffrey had not a drop of Robert's blood. He confronted the young Joffrey and the royal court and urged Stannis to take the crown as the legitimate heir; however, this led to House Lannister executing Eddard for treason against “King” Joffrey. Now Eddard's son, Robb, leads House Stark and has raised their direwolf banners of war in revenge, his bannermen proclaiming him King in the North.

This turmoil presents an opportunity to House Greyjoy, the independently minded Ironborn of Pyke, to consider once again raising the Kraken banner in rebellion. Once they ruled as kings on the mainland and terrorised the people of Westeros. Yet the last time they rebelled, Balon Greyjoy lost two sons and was crushed by Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark. Yet now both these men lie dead, and Balon plots once more to rule in his own right again...

Finally, deep in the sandy south, Prince Doran, Lord of Sunspear and the Dornish cause, quietly plans his revenge. His sister Elia and her children were murdered during Robert Baratheon's rebellion against the previous royal family, House Targaryen. Doran and his brother Oberyn suspect this happened under the direct orders of Tywin Lannister, and continue to plan for the day that House Targaryen is restored to the throne and the speared sun standard of House Martell flies alongside it...

This is a time where each house has a clear motive to have their banners raised. Although they each may have historical rivalries, this is also a time of shifting alliances and constant change. Players are encouraged to embrace the thematic setting of the variant when they roleplay, but ultimately they are free to decide how they wish to represent their houses.

The Theme of the Influence Tracks


The three Influence tracks have purely symbolic meanings. The following are their thematic backgrounds:

Iron Throne: The position of each house on the Iron Throne Influence track abstractly represents the strength of their claim to be king, as seen among the minor nobles, knights, and people of Westeros.
Fiefdoms: The Fiefdoms Influence track represents each house's efforts to lead the minor nobles and bannermen of their lands.
King's Court: A house’s position on the King's Court Influence track represents its level of intrigue, spies, and secret communications.

The variant is called “Five Kings and a Prince” because each of the 6 players are contending for the throne and consider themselves to be legitimate claimants. Therefore, players should not fall into the trap of thinking that another player winning the highest position on the Iron Throne track makes that player the “King” of Westeros. Likewise, players' positions on the King's Court track don't represent the favour they would enjoy in the “court” of such a “King” of Westeros. As far as each player is concerned, their house always has the most legitimate claim.

What is different in this Variant?


• The map has been completely redesigned: There are new areas, new borders, and a new resource distribution.
• All house cards have been completely redesigned: Houses are represented by new sets of characters that have new and unique abilities, tying the world of ASOIAF closer to the players' experience.
• The Westeros Deck III has been tweaked: “Rains of Autumn” and “Storm of Swords” have been replaced by “Last Days of Summer” and “Winter is Coming”, introducing greater variance in what may befall the houses of Westeros.
• The Wildlings track and Wildling Threat token have been replaced by the Crisis track and Crisis Threat token respectively: Players now have to band together to overcome a whole new set of diverse challenges.
• The Crisis card is revealed before bidding on it begins: New opportunities for cooperation or intrigue between players arise.
• The strength of the Crisis track has been slightly boosted: No Crisis can now be averted by complete inaction on the part of the players.
• Failing to avert a Crisis moves the Crisis token back 1 position, instead of 2: Failing to deal with successive Crises doesn't decrease the threat they pose as fast as before.
• The tiebreakers have been changed: The number of strongholds a player controls, plays no role in the tiebreakers any more. Instead, the tiebreakers now work in the following order:
1. Available Power tokens
2. Position on Supply track
3. Position on Iron Throne Influence track
• The board interface has been improved: Visual improvements have been made to existing elements (unit placements, garrison tokens, etc.), while the introduction of new elements (Westeros and Crisis cards) allows the state of the game to be more accurately represented on the board. Steps have also been taken to make the experience more user-friendly on mobile devices.

[2] Andrik the Unsmiling: If you are attacking and win this combat, place and resolve a Raid Order token in the embattled area after combat. It may only be resolved against your opponent or any player who supported them in that combat.
[1] Asha Greyjoy: If you are attacking, you may immediately choose that both you and your opponent do not receive any support in this combat.

[3] Ser Jaime Lannister: If the final combat strength results for this combat are tied, you win this combat irrespective of your position on the Fiefdom Influence track.

[2] Walder Frey: If your opponent is higher on the Victory track, this card loses 1 combat strength. If your opponent is lower on the Victory track, this card gains 1 combat strength.

[1] The Blackfish: Gain 1 combat strength for each area that supports you in this combat. If you lose this combat, your units are not routed after retreating.

[2] Ser Loras Tyrell: All attacking (but not supporting) Tyrell Knights add 3 combat strength instead of 2.
[2] Brienne of Tarth: Immediately remove your opponent's Order token from the embattled area.
[1] Queen of Thorns: You may immediately discard one of your available Power tokens to swap any two of your Order tokens from anywhere on the board. You may not swap the March Order token used to start this combat.

HOUSE CARD CLARIFICATIONS

The Effect of Westeros Cards on House Card Abilities


Some house cards allow a player to place a specific type of order token on the board during combat. If a Westeros III card prohibits a particular type of order from being played in a round, then it also prohibits house card abilities from playing that particular type of order. More specifically:

Robb Stark: If “Web of Lies” is drawn as the Westeros III card of a round, then the Stark player may not place a support order with Robb Stark's ability during that round. If “Put to the Sword” is drawn as the Westeros III card of a round and the holder of the Valyrian Steel Blade chooses that defence orders cannot be played, then the Stark player may not place a defence order with Robb Stark's ability during that round.
Andrik the Unsmiling: If “Sea of Storms” is drawn as the Westeros III card of a round, then the Greyjoy player may not place a raid order with Andrik the Unsmiling's ability during that round.
Littlefinger: If “Feast for Crows” is drawn as the Westeros III card of a round, then the Lannister player may not place a consolidate power order with Littlefinger's ability during that round.

The Effect of the King's Court Track on House Card Abilities


During the planning phase, a player may only place as many special orders on the board as is allowed by their position on the King's Court track. During the action phase, players may only use Andrik the Unsmiling, Littlefinger, and Robb Stark's abilities to place an available special order on the board if both of the following conditions are met:

a) The player's position on the King's Court track has at least one star.
b) Placing a special order on the board with a house card ability may not make the number of special orders that the player has on the board, exceed the maximum number of special orders allowed by their King's Court track position at the time that the ability is used.

Timing of House Card Abilities


Any timing conflicts that may occur when resolving house cards during combat, are handled in exactly the same way as in standard 2nd Edition AGoT. Therefore, text abilities are resolved in the following order:

1. Any “Ignore” or “Cancel” text abilities are first resolved in the player order of the Iron Throne track. This includes Tyrion Lannister.
2. Any text abilities that start with “immediately” are then resolved in the player order of the Iron Throne track. This includes Melisandre, Asha Greyjoy, Brienne of Tarth, and Queen of Thorns.
3. Other conflicting text abilities are then resolved in the player order of the Iron Throne track.
4. After the outcome of combat is determined, any “win/lose this combat...” text abilities are resolved in the player order of the Iron Throne track. This includes Arianne Martell, Doran Martell, and Renly Baratheon.
5. Any text abilities that state “after combat” are then resolved in the player order of the Iron Throne track. This includes Ser Davos Seaworth, Tycho Nestoris, Andrik the Unsmiling, Littlefinger, Catelyn Stark, Robb Stark, and Margaery Tyrell.

Rulings on individual House Card Abilities


Note: CS = combat strength



Ser Davos Seaworth: If the Baratheon player uses Ser Davos Seaworth's ability, then they must update their supply and reconcile their armies as if a “Supply” Westeros I card had been resolved. If the Baratheon player attacked an area with one or more barrels and won the combat with Ser Davos Seaworth, then those barrels are also counted when the Baratheon player updates their supply.

Salladhor Saan: If Baratheon ships directly contribute CS to the combat (even 0 CS), then Salladhor Saan has 3 CS and 1 sword. If the embattled area is a land area that is not adjacent to a sea area containing Baratheon ships, then Salladhor Saan has 1 CS. Note that ports do not count as sea areas.

Tycho Nestoris: The text ability of an opponent's house card may affect the CS that Tycho Nestoris' ability uses to determine the number of Power tokens discarded by the opponent; however, the order for resolving timing conflicts must always be followed when resolving text abilities.

Melisandre: The Baratheon house card that is discarded by Melisandre's ability, only adds its printed CS to Melisandre's CS; the ability of the discarded house card is not resolved during the combat. If the Baratheon player plays Melisandre when they have only one other house card in hand, and chooses to use her ability, then the other house card is discarded first, while Melisandre is discarded at the end of combat as usual. In this case the Baratheon player returns their entire discard pile to their hand except for Melisandre (their last played house card), which remains in the discard pile. Melisandre cannot use her ability to discard herself.



Victarion Greyjoy: The CS of an opponent's house card may never be reduced below 0 due to Victarion Greyjoy's ability, even if the text ability of the opponent's house card would make it lose CS after Victarion Greyjoy had already reduced it to 0 CS.

Andrik the Unsmiling: Andrik the Unsmiling's ability is resolved after the Greyjoy player's march order has been removed from the board. If the Greyjoy player starts the combat with their special march order, and already had the maximum number of special orders allowed them (due to their King's Court track position) on the board before attacking, then they are still allowed to place and resolve a special raid order with Andrik the Unsmiling's ability.

Asha Greyjoy: If the Greyjoy player chooses to use Asha Greyjoy's ability, then neither the Greyjoy player nor their opponent may support themselves in this combat. All support orders from third parties adjacent to the embattled area are effectively ignored during this combat as well.



Joffrey Baratheon: The text ability of an opponent's house card may affect the CS that Joffrey Baratheon's CS is compared to; however, the order for resolving timing conflicts must always be followed when resolving text abilities.

Littlefinger: Littlefinger's ability is resolved after the march order that started the combat, has been removed from the board. If the Lannister player starts the combat with their special march order, and already had the maximum number of special orders allowed them (due to their King's Court track position) on the board before attacking, then they are still allowed to place an available special consolidate power order with Littlefinger's ability. A consolidate power order that was placed on the board during the planning phase and later removed due to an opponent raiding it or the Lannister player losing a defensive combat, may be used with Littlefinger's ability.



The Red Viper: The Red Viper's skull icon is resolved after any casualties from sword icons are resolved. The skull icon causes the opponent to suffer one casualty, regardless of which player was victorious in the combat. This casualty is in addition to any other casualties dealt during combat, and cannot be prevented by fortification icons.



Robb Stark: Robb Stark's ability is resolved after the Stark player's march order has been removed from the board. If the Stark player starts the combat with their special march order, and already had the maximum number of special orders allowed them (due to their King's Court track position) on the board before attacking, then they are still allowed to place an available special support or special defence order with Robb Stark's ability. A support or defence order that was placed on the board during the planning phase and later removed due to an opponent raiding it or the Stark player losing a defensive combat, may be used with Robb Stark's ability.

The Blackfish: The Blackfish gains 1 CS for each area that supports the Stark player in combat, regardless of whether the support is granted by the Stark player or another player.

Catelyn Stark: The Stark player may choose to have all their discarded house cards (except Catelyn Stark) returned to their hand after combat has been resolved. The house card that an opponent plays against Catelyn Stark in combat, is returned to the opponent's hand. If this card was the opponent's last house card in their hand, then they do not refresh their hand as normal.



Renly Baratheon: The Tyrell player may not exceed their supply or unit limits when using Renly Baratheon's ability. If the Tyrell player wins a combat against The Red Viper with Renly Baratheon, then the text ability of Renly Baratheon is resolved first before any casualties are determined.

Queen of Thorns: The Tyrell player may only swap two of their orders that were placed on the board during the planning phase, and therefore may not place an unused order on the board using the Queen of Thorns' ability. The two orders may be from any two areas that the Tyrell player has orders in, including (if applicable) the embattled area. The Tyrell player may not swap the march order with which they started the combat.

Margaery Tyrell: The text ability of an opponent's house card may affect the CS that Margaery Tyrell's ability uses to determine the number of Power tokens gained; however, the order for resolving timing conflicts must always be followed when resolving text abilities.



WESTEROS CARDS

• “Rains of Autumn” (No march +1 orders) and “Storm of Swords” (no defence orders) have been replaced in Westeros Deck III by “Last Days of Summer” and “Winter is Coming”.

The following serves as a reference for the game. When Westeros rolls are made, this reference can be updated to show which cards are still available.

Westeros I Cards

3 × Mustering: Recruit new units in Castles and Strongholds.
3 × Supply: Adjust Supply track, then reconcile armies.
2 × Thrones of Blades [C]: Holder of the Iron Throne chooses between: Mustering, Supply, or No Effect.

CRISIS CARDS

The Crisis deck replaces the Wildling deck used in standard 2nd Edition AGoT in this variant. There are 10 Crisis cards and each has its own effects. They are designed to be thematic and dynamic: you will notice more profound effects, and their results are more fitting to the world of ASOIAF. They are resolved in exactly the same way as the Wildling deck, with the exception of the following changes:

• The top Crisis card is revealed to all players (i.e. posted in the thread) before bidding on a Crisis begins.
• If players fail to avert a Crisis, then the Crisis Threat token is moved back 1 position, instead of 2.

HOW TO USE THE BOARD INTERFACE

The board interface used in this variant is based on the board interface created by

A semi-transparent, black, horizontal bar is located at the top of the board. Hover the mouse cursor over the bar to access the main menu. The main menu contains tabs on the left that allow the player to change different aspects of the board (game tracks, house-specific components, etc.). Clicking on a tab opens a more detailed submenu to the right. Every time an element on the board is changed, a new tinyurl link is generated at the top of the main menu. The player can copy and paste this link in the thread to share changes they have made on the board with other players.

General syntax rules for player input
• The entry for each house or area must be on a new line.
• Empty lines are not allowed.
• Each colon and comma must be followed by a single space, and extra spaces at the end of a line must be avoided.
• Ports are named by appending “ - Port” to an area name. There must be a single space before and after the hyphen.

Game Tracks and Settings


• The visibility of units, orders, and Power tokens on the board can be toggled on or off by clicking on the corresponding text at the top of this submenu.
• To change the three Influence tracks, edit their input fields. The house that occupies position 1 on an Influence track must be entered in the first line, followed by the other houses in descending order.
• To change the state of use of the Valyrian Steel Blade or Messenger Raven tokens, either toggle their checkboxes in this submenu, or click directly on their icons above the Influence tracks. A red icon indicates that the token has been used in the round; a black icon indicates that the token has not been used yet.
• To change the position of the Crisis Threat token, enter a new strength value in the field. The input must match a strength value printed on the Crisis track. To change the position of the Round token, change its value.
• To change the Supply or Victory tracks, edit their input fields. The format for a valid entry is: “housename: number”.
• To place a Neutral force in an area, enter the area name and combat strength with the following format: “areaname: number”. To remove a Neutral force from an area, delete the entire line.

Westeros/Crisis Cards

The current state of Westeros/Crisis cards can be changed by the player. When the game begins, all Westeros/Crisis cards are shown as available, i.e. they have not been drawn yet. When a Westeros/Crisis card is drawn, click on the card to highlight it with a golden border. When a Westeros/Crisis card is buried, click on the highlighted card to make it semi-transparent. Click on a buried card to make it available again.

House-specific Actions


• The game components of a specific house can be changed by clicking on the tab with the appropriate house name.
• To place a unit in an area, enter the area name and unit in the Units field with the following format: “areaname: unit”. An area can contain a maximum of 4 units. To remove all units of a house from an area, delete the entire line. Use the following case-insensitive names to enter units:

Footman: FM, Footman
Knight: KN, Knight
Ship: SH, Ship
Siege Engine: SE, Siege
Multiple units: separated by “, ” (e.g. KN, FM, FM)
Routed units: prefixed with “routed-” (e.g. routed-FM) or “r-” (e.g. r-FM)

• To place an order in an area, enter the area name and order in the Orders field with the following format: “areaname: order”. To remove an order from an area, delete the entire line. Hover the mouse cursor over an order to temporarily see the units underneath it. Use the following case-insensitive names to enter orders:

• To place a Power token in an area, enter the area name in the Power Tokens in Areas field. To remove a Power token from an area, delete the entire line. Remember to decrease the available Power tokens of a house when placing a Power token in an area.

I. General Principles


1. The official AGoT 2nd Edition rules are followed, with the exception of the house rules stated in Section IV and rule changes specific to the variant. The moderator has the final say on any matter not covered by the rules.
2. Tides of Battle Cards are not used.
3. Ravens to other players (private messages / Geekmails / etc.) are not allowed. All communication by players must be posted publicly in the thread.
4. Westeros cards are drawn randomly using Geekrolls. The Crisis deck is managed by the moderator.
5. Houses are determined using Geekrolls. Players may swap their houses before begin of play if the players agree to the swap.

II. Playing by Forum: The Basics


1. Players are expected to resolve their actions when their turn comes up. To expedite play, players are free to resolve any part of play (e.g. posting or correcting the board) that does not require the moderator to manage hidden information (e.g. bidding).
2a. Unnecessary delays should be avoided. Players should try to check in at least once a day and not rely only on notifications/subscriptions.
2b. A player that is unable to participate for 2+ days, should notify the moderator and/or the entire group.
2c. Players will be replaced at the moderator's and group's discretion if they have not posted in the thread or responded to Geekmail reminders for some time (~2 days, unless the group decides to wait).
2d. Players are encouraged to forward their Geekmail to an email address they check regularly. In a worst-case scenario, this could allow a player to notice a Geekmail sent by the moderator. This option can be set under the Settings of Geekmail.
3. Use normal text for regular discussions.
4. Players are highly encouraged to participate in politics and roleplaying, which should be written in italics.
5. Use bold text for in-game moves and actions.
6. To avoid confusion, players should not edit game-related text (in-game actions, politics) after posting it. If necessary, edit the text by formatting the old text with strikethrough tags.
7. Players should address each other by their house names (especially for diplomacy and in-game actions). The moderator can be simply addressed as mod.
8. Players must use the banner of their house at the top of each post. Use [ImageID=#######medium] to post a banner, where ####### is the ImageID number that can be obtained from the banners section.

III. Playing by Forum: Orders, Battles, Bids


1a. To submit orders, bids, and house cards, players must Geekmail the moderator with the subject defined as follows:

1b. Players should Geekmail their orders to the moderator in exactly the same format as they would use to enter them on the board. Therefore, players should preview their orders on the board first to make sure that they contain no mistakes, and then copy and paste their orders in their Geekmail to the moderator. It is the responsibility of the player to make sure that their orders are correct.
1c. After a player has sent their orders/bids/etc. to the moderator, they should post in the thread that they have done so. This expedites play.
2. Combat is resolved as follows:
(a) The attacker must calculate and post both their and the defender's initial combat strengths, using the format of the example shown below. The initial combat strength of each house includes: the combat strength of all the attacker's/defender's units in the embattled area; any defence or march order bonuses/penalties; the combat strength from any supporting units and special support order bonuses of the attacker/defender; a garrison token in the embattled area.
(b) Both the attacker and defender may then call for support from other houses. Players who wish to grant support to the attacker/defender should declare so by posting their support action in the thread in bold. If support has been declared, the supporter recomputes and posts both parties' modified combat strengths.
(c) The attacker Geekmails the moderator their chosen house card and informs everyone by posting that they have already sent their house card to the moderator. The attacker may send conditional house cards based on whether support is granted or not (e.g. send Asha if Baratheon supports, otherwise send Theon).
(d) The defender Geekmails the moderator their chosen house card AND posts it in the thread.
(e) The attacker reveals their house card by posting it in the thread.
(f) If either the attacker or defender holds the Valyrian Steel Blade token, they may then decide whether they wish to use it.
(g) Anyone may then recompute and post the final combat strengths of both combatants. The final step of combat, Combat Resolution, follows.
(h) If either the attacker or defender lose control of an area with a castle or stronghold, they must immediately update the Victory track for both the combatants.

Notes:
• Steps 2b & 2f are optional and may be skipped. If the attacker or defender does not call for support in step 2b, then they cannot receive support either.
• To expedite play, the attacker may opt to not wait for support to be granted in 2b and immediately continue by sending their house card to the moderator in step 2c. In this case, support from other players can still be declared as long as the defender has not yet Geekmailed the moderator their house card (Step 2d). All support declared after Step 2d will no longer count.
• In Step 2g, anyone may resolve the combat without waiting for the moderator.
• The following example battle serves as a reference for the game. Copy and paste the example and adjust it for battles in the game:

3. Players should not perform out-of-turn (OOT) actions. If a player knows that they will be unavailable or just wants to expedite the game, they can Geekmail the moderator their OOT orders. If OOT orders are posted in the thread, they are binding.
4. The moderator will accept changes to orders, bids, and house cards submitted by a player only so long as the changes are received before the last player the moderator was waiting on has submitted their actions. If the last player the moderator was waiting on has submitted their orders, bid, or house card, then no further changes to submitted actions are allowed. Orders, bids, and house cards posted in the thread, are binding. Disputes are ultimately resolved at the discretion of the moderator and the entire group.
5. If a player notices any mistakes, whether made by the moderator or another player, they should inform the group immediately.

IV. House Rules


1a. Game of Thrones Westeros II Card: Players receive one Power token for each Port containing at least one friendly ship, as long as the Port's connected sea area does not contain enemy ships.
1b. Dark Wings, Dark Words Westeros II Card: If “Game of Thrones” is chosen, it is resolved in exactly the same way as the “Game of Thrones” Westeros card.
2. Not Enough Order Tokens: To expedite the game, this rule is ignored completely. Should a player find themselves in this situation and notice that the players after them on the Iron Throne track have not yet submitted their orders, it is considered good gaming style for the player to inform those players as to which areas did not receive orders.
3. CP* Orders: It is assumed by default that a player wants to resolve their CP* order as their last order, thereby allowing them to muster after other players that have lower positions on the Iron Throne track and fewer CP orders. A player that wishes to forfeit this advantage, must explicitly state so in the thread before the CP orders are resolved.
4. Faulty Order Placement: If something is wrong with the orders that a player submitted to the moderator, follow this procedure:
(a) If a player has more special orders than allowed or duplicate orders (e.g. two March+0 orders) on the board, then extra/duplicate orders are downgraded (if possible) in the alphabetical order of the areas.
(b) Any extra/duplicate orders left on the board after step (a) are completely removed from the board in the alphabetical order of the areas.
(c) If after step (b) or by a player's mistake there are areas without orders, then those areas remain without orders. (Note: According to the rules, all areas with units must receive orders. Players are not allowed to deliberately submit invalid orders, or decline to give areas with units orders when it's possible to give them orders, in order to gain an advantage.)
(d) If an area has a forbidden order (per a Westeros III card), the order is removed without replacement.
(e) If the board shows something different from what the player intended, the orders as displayed on the board are kept.
(f) If the moderator notices a mistake in the submitted orders of a player, they may notify the player to correct the mistake. Section III point 4. applies here too. Late changes to orders are ultimately resolved at the discretion of the moderator and the entire group.
5. Retreating and Ships in Port: For a player that loses a combat and is forced to retreat from the land area connected to a Port that contains their ships, the ships in Port do not count against their supply limit when retreating their land units. The opponent decides after the player has retreated, whether to replace or destroy the ships in Port.
6. Leaving Power Tokens in Areas: Upon marching all units from a land area, it is assumed by default that the player has chosen to not leave a Power Token to establish control, unless the player explicitly declares their intention to do so. If a player forgets to state that they wanted to leave a Power token, it is resolved at the discretion of the moderator and the entire group.
Example of leaving a Power token wrote:
Riverrun: march KN and SE to the Twins. Leave PT.

This is the only house I have not played yet, if you want I would trade it for Martell. Otherwise I am happy to play as Martell, since my first time round I kind of messed it up pretty badly.
