Cat cafes - cafes which include a population of cats that can be petted while drinking your interestingly-priced coffee - are on the rise, it seems.

Boardgame cafes are also growing in number.

Since half of all pictures on bgg involve cats*, why not combine the two?

So suggestions for names. I'll put forward Cat an' Coffee. Any others?

(*possible hyperbole)

I was going to break your blockade of Corusant and win the game, but "Mr. Sprinkles" had other ideas and now I have cat ass on Nabu. I'm gonna go home.

Oh yeah, names:

Look at my butt while you roll dice

I'll trade my wood for your pile of cat hair

Allergies, overpriced coffee and, ah screw it just turn the car around and go back home

Granted these may be kind of hard to fit on an employee name badge, but I'm not sure it would be a problem for very long.

In many municipalities it isn't. So you end up either changing the laws, carving out a special waiver under current laws, or you skirt the law by differing setups. I know in some places there will be two businesses side-by-side (or even across the street from one another) and one business is set up as an eatery counter where you can get coffee/tea/donuts, but then to interact with the cats you pass through a set of doors that puts you legally in another business that is set up as more of a common-area space (without the food/drink license.)

Many cat cafes are set up in old sections of town that are desperate for the foot-traffic and tax income, so they make exclusions or exceptions. The free-market at work, giving the people what they want.

Yes! We have the approval from the Philadelphia Health Department. Our cafe will be split into two separate areas: the cafe and the cat lounge. No cats will be allowed into the cafe, but you are free to bring your food and drink into the cat lounge.

Cats are entirely too fond of playing with the pieces and like to sit down on the board.

This sounds like my house.

There is a cat cafe in Toronto (a real one, not my house). The cats were taken away at one point because of alleged neglect of the animals by the owners.

This is one of the unfortunate sticking points of the idea.
Happily, many cat cafes in the USA are affiliated with local animal shelters, so the cats that roam around are adoptable. Which becomes a double+plus good.

That's how the one by me is, they are affiliated with a local non-profit (Cat Adoption Team), and so far they have adopted 224 cats out of the cafe specifically.

What the--mine too!

OK, how many of us are in Dennis' house right now? Obviously you don't have to say where--let's not make it too easy on him--but I'm just wondering what my odds are of running into someone else if I have to change hiding places in a hurry.

After he goes to sleep, you guys want to play a game?

The one in Toronto was affiliated with the Toronto Humane Society too.

I always wanted to learn EastFront. You think we'll find it if we search through his game collection?

PS - I'm hiding in the garage, under his car. Come out and knock on the door once the coast is clear.
