I understand that Orient Express(OE) are allowed to skip station, and reach Paris and Konstantinopel.

When it start at Konstantinopel, can it still stop at Budapest?

Also when it start at Paris, could it still stop at Zurich?

The rules only say that an Orient Express train can start in Paris or Constantinople. Is a single OE allowed to start in one and end in the other?

Also, is there a limit to how many stations can be skipped? I think this rule is new in this edition.

Other than an in-passing note, is the rule on skipping explained anywhere?

The only reference in the rules is the following line:
rules wrote:
No stations/cities on the route may be omitted (with the exception of the 8Ox trains).

The implication is that 8Ox trains may omit any number of stations/cities on the route, i.e. they may "skip" stations/cities.

I had remembered the reference and since there wasn't any more information I just kind of filed it away.

This idea of 8 Best (include great end points) makes great sense to me! It's a Diesel-Minus.
