Ok, so I'm a tad confused. on First night and night.

With a moderator
On the first night the Witches assign a black cat. Play commences.

When the night card comes up, the Witches select a player to put the kill token on, the constable selects a player to put the save token on.

The moderator offers and opportunity to confess.

All players open up their eyes, the person with the kill token dies unless they have the save token or have confessed.

The Black Cat stays with the same person unless the cat is moved through card play.

With a Town Cryer
At setup, the Town cryer tells everyone to close their eyes, tells the witches to open their eyes, and instructors the players to put the kill token in front of a player face down.

The same player is given the Black Cat card.

Play resumes

When the night card is drawn, each player takes a blank token.
The town cryer places the kill and save tokens in the middle.
The town cryer has everyone close their eyes, has the witches open their eyes and replace one player's blank token with a kill token face down.

The town cryer then has the constable replace a token with the Save token.

Everyone is offered the opportunity to confess, and tokens are flipped. If someone has a killed token, unless they've confessed or have the Asylum card, they are dead and out of the game.

Is that right?

That is all correct. However, I think you meant to say "Save" token for the constable in the Town Crier section.

And remember, Constable replaces the token with the Save token face up. Witches replace the token with the kill token face down.
