In a 2 or 3 player game, there will be an Akua no player has chosen. Can you choose this Akua in step 3? Or is it implied you MUST choose an Akua that has been selected by another player.

For example, in a two player game...
In step 2, I choose Red and you choose Blue. Can I, in step 3, choose Green? Or must I choose Blue?

Great question!

Nope. None of the unchosen Akua will have a selection Mark to erase, so you wouldn't be able to choose one of those unchosen Akua in a 2-3 player game.

My understanding was that as long as you did not choose the same Akua twice this round, you were fine. Whether they choose it was irrelevant.

OK, so would another way to put that be...

"...each player chooses an Akua another player chose in step 2 and erases the Mark in that Akua's selection space..."

?

It does say erase the mark, so I had assumed John's ruling for our first play based on the rules wording. Great to hear the official!
