My 10 year old son and I played Armada for the first time two weeks ago and got hooked bad. So very bad. Here's what I've bought so far.

Star Wars: Armada - Core Game
Star Wars: Armada - Extra Maneuver Tool
Star Wars: Armada - Extra Dice
Star Wars: Armada - Extra Dice
Star Wars: Armada - Assault Frigate Mark II

Star Wars: Armada - Nebulon-B Frigate

I also plan to pick up the following next pay day.

Star Wars: Armada - Liberty

Star Wars: Armada - Imperial Raider
Star Wars: Armada - Imperial Assault Carrier
Star Wars: Armada - Extra Dice
Star Wars: Armada - Extra Dice
Star Wars: Armada - Extra Maneuver Tool
Star Wars: Armada - Extra Maneuver Tool

My main reason for posting is to get suggestions for what to buy to transport all of this? I've heard of Battlefoam, but is there anything else worth looking at?

Are there any obvious gaps in what I've purchased, or plan to purchase?

Is there any reason to buy a second Rogues and Villians, or a second Interdictor?

Thanks.

Why would you need three maneuver tools?

I also am hooked.

That's quite the shopping you have done.
Originally I would suggest between 2-4 rogues and villains but with the upcoming release of more fighters... To be honest I am not sure.

I do like running 2 or 3 firespray's.

In my opinion 2 interdictor lists seem super defensive... But I think they maybe lacking punch.

I made one for each length, helps for busy games where the full size tool would not fit otherwise.

I am a big fane of plano's Plano storage for base components for storage. Recently I've added some foam and foam board to the mix. Keeps it flexible for transport.

Highly recommend the flotillas.

The main reason to buy multiple rouges and villains is to fly fleets with Scurg Bomber wings... I have seen auction lots on eBay where you can buy single ships from R&V in bulk too.

You NEED more fighters in your list. Get at least 8 of each fighter.

Also get two additional rogue and villain packs so you can run multiple fire sprays. I suggest 4 fire sprays minimum.

I own four maneuver tools. It's very helpful to have maneuver tools of varying lengths so they're easier to fit onto the playing area when it gets cramped. At the very least I'd recommend owning two for a 4 length and 2 length one. From there you can add a 3 length and 1 length when you get around to it.

You can just choke up on the 2 and 4 to get 1 and 3.

Two is nice, 3 is nice with 2p using your kit (1 each +a 2)

Which is why I recommended starting with a 2 and 4 first and then expanding from there if necessary. The 1 and 3 have been pretty helpful (the 1 in particular for close-quarters moving/Engine Techs) but I absolutely grant you get diminishing returns from them. Choking up is sometimes just not very convenient if you're in extremely close quarters.

I use a 2 & 4 which works very well. I've thought about getting another for a 1... I should ask OP to sneak one into his shopping list for me

I'm sure it would be easy beside 3 gladiators (I can't think of a situation I'd want 3 gladiators, I mean ever*).

Hey I won the Adepticon Armada tournament this year with my fleet that had 3 Gladiators in it (and 2 Raiders), so it's definitely doable!

That said, I don't think I'd recommend making it a priority to get to 2 or even 3 with any kind of haste. You get diminishing returns including Gladiators past the first (as the Demolisher title is a unique upgrade) and as the Empire gets more fast/maneuverable ships, they don't occupy as unique a niche as they used to in wave 1.

What if you want two Ackbar-Enhanced Armament-Concentrate Fire MC80s to be able to shoot at each other at the same time?

Well then you better grab two more dice sets in case the objective is Opening Salvo!

Thank you all for the informative replies. I really appreciate your taking the time to reply.

I'll take a look at Plano for storage solutions. I was also pointed towards a Feldherr Storage Box as an alternative. Any opinions about that product?

I bought the extra maneuver tools so I could make them in different lengths. The shorter ones are nice to use when you are moving slow and things get really crowded.

I bought extra dice to be ready for the upcoming campaign release. If there are more than two people playing it'll be nice to let everyone have their own set. I bought 10 sets of dice for Formula D for the same reason.

Here is the most up to date inventory list. The stuff I still want to buy is listed in the order that I think it should be purchased. Any opinions about that? Also, is two of each fighter expansion enough, or would it be better to double that? Any other suggestions or comments are welcome. Thanks!

I somehow missed A Jones comment the first time through. I already plan to pick up two more of the Rogues expansion, for a total of four. Is that enough?

Just to make it clear, I'm mainly buying all of this Armada stuff because:

a) I played the game and loved it immediately. I'm also a huge Star Fleet Battles fan, and this seems to be much more approachable for new players. I hope to eventually rope some of them into SFB as well. I don't have many miniatures for SFB because I'm not really into assembling and painting. Fortunately, that's not an issue with Armada.

b) I've loved Star Wars since 1977 when I first saw the movie (multiple times) with my younger brother. I was seven years old and I think it is the first movie that I can remember seeing at a theater.

C) And, most importantly, nothing beats sitting at the table spending time with my kids playing these games. I was raised by my grandparents and the only game I could ever get them to play was cribbage, or occasionally another card game. Don't get me wrong, I loved playing cribbage with them, I just wished that there had been more variety.

What it costs to buy this stuff isn't really significant, so please don't consider that when replying. I just want to have enough of everything to have a great experience and a ton of replayability. Thanks again.

With money as no object, two of each release would be more than enough, IMO, outside of specific tournament builds or fielding mirror matches in tournament play. I'll modify that statement when we learn more about the campaign, though.

That'd be amazing. Especially if there was more terrain and lots of defending ships and squadrons.

Sleeving the cards for all of this is taking forever. We've watched A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back so far and we're still not done yet.
