Hey all,

I picked up a used copy of GoW: Board game. It's in great condition all except that it is missing the LOS ruler. Just wondering if anyone would happen to know of a way to get one. Either a good top down picture that I could make a proxy from or if anyone would be willing to part with theirs for $5.

Thanks

Better solution: Buy a LINE laser, use in all your LOS-based games. You can even add it to your key chain and have it always with you.

Problem solved!

@vasilis

I like that idea. Although, doing a quick search I'm only finding large line lasers... Where do you find relatively cheap pocket size line lasers?

You don't need it. Possibly the most pointless piece in a boardgame ever.

Ι have the TARGETLOCK that's why I advised to get a line laser. Since I got it, it has been used extensively for resolving LOS issues for Galaxy Defenders, Star Wars: Imperial Assault, Level 7: Omega Protocol (variant los) and All Things Zombie: Reloaded. Basically, it's very useful in almost all hex games which utilize LOS.

Having said that, after 25+ sessions of Gears of War I needed to measure LOS ~2 times, so the ruler is pretty much worthless. No reason to bother getting it at all. Heck I even had the ruler around but I still just grabbed the manual and used it as a ruler to resolve the matter quickly instead of trying to find the ruler in the box.

If you are playing a lot of similar games though then you can make your life a lot easier with a line laser.

Only time you might have to measure it is with a boomer or theron guard in one of those big rooms, they're the only ones that typically have commands that have them shooting from any significant distance...
