In 20 minutes (I don't know all your times zones, so no time stamp), Amazon has a deal of the day for Champions of Midgard. I don't own the game, so I can't attest to it, but it sounds like it's gotten mostly positive reviews, some people saying it replaced Lords of Waterdeep as their go-to, easy to teach worker placement game.

Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014TKCZ4K/ref=gbps_img_s-3_0082_9...

Currently on amazon, it's at $37.97, which is just a tiny bit cheaper than Cardhaus and Miniature Market, so any few dollars off that might be of interest to people. Historic Low Price according to CamelCamelCamel is $36, so this might get close to that. Happy hunting!

Great catch. FYI, this is a Prime Early Access Deal, so those without prime may have to wait a little longer.

Re: [Amazon Prime Early Access] Upcoming Lightning Deal: Champions of MIdgard $???
Just stumbled onto it looking at upcoming deals. I could count on perhaps one hand how many games I've not purchased on some sort of sale.

And thanks, Nick. Updated the title to clarify there's Prime early access.

$34.98 with tax. Gotta pass. Good deal, but I think I can do better if I wait.

Should be available to non prime folks soon if it isn't already. Not as low as I hoped though.

I was going to pass too, hoping it would have been under $30, but then I remembered I had a $10 Amazon credit by taking advantage of their gift card promotion today, so net cost was $24 and change.

I'd strongly suggest trying before buying.

Not that isn't good advice for any game but why do you feel the need to strongly suggest that for this one in particular?

If you're..

a fan of the Viking theme
Medium Weight Worker Placement
don't mind a small amount of luck that is easily mitigated
beautiful artwork
meaningful decisions

then this is almost a no brainer

Unlike Lords of Waterdeep your choices actually do effect the outcome of the game. The swingy-ness in points is also a lot less of a factor (especially with LoW expansion) no stupid 40 point cards that slingshot someone from last to first place.

Even though the rules are simple enough, I wouldn't recommend this as a gateway game because new players without a strategy can easily get rolled in it.

Because it's a pretty frustrating game with fairly limited replayability, in my experience. I gave my copy away.
