Hello wargamers,

I have a project I am working on for which I need some fairly small hexes. Specifically, the size needs to be 1cm from side to opposite side (nearly 1.2 cm from corner to opposite corner). Its width should be around 2mm thick.

Does anyone know of an existing game that provides hex counters with these dimensions?

Thank you!

Half inch counters (~1/10th of an inch bigger than 1cm) are the smallest I have ever seen.

I seem to remember AH Republic of Rome having really teeny counters for gold, but they were round (if that matters).

Good to know... sadly.

It does matter, because I need the hex counters to fit within plastic hexes with sockets of the stated dimensions. Unless I could cut those counters to that hex size...?

Find hex paper of that size and print it on cardstock or glue it to chipboard and then cut along the lines the number of hex counters you need.

Sorry, I misread your request: I thought you were looking for counters that fit in a 1cm hex, not hex-shaped counters.

Litko does custom bases for miniatures made out of .8, 1.5, or 3mm plywood.

They list 15mm hexagonal tiles http://www.litko.net/products/Hexagonal-Miniatures-Bases%3A-... in their catalog. You might contact them and see if they could do 10mm hexes.

As a quick CAD exercise, I have drawn up a sheet of hexes 10mm across the face and offset for easy cutting. I this is of any use I could send you a .PDF A4 print. You could print it onto a full-size label sheet, stick that to 2mm board and cut them out.

I hope this will be useful to you.

These might be just a little bit to big (15 mm) but maybe you can find something else in the shop you can cut.

Excellent option! I have reached out to them to see if they can provide a smaller hex.

Thanks.

I appreciate the link. I contacted them to discuss providing a different size chit, but minimum orders for custom sizes is 2000!

In Italy there are services that cut paper (and wood) with laser, on design, all is needed is a dxf file (universal format for 2d vectorial drawings), price based on material and total length of the cut. I'm sure these kind of service can be found everywhere... So, if your need is just a sheet of 10mm hexes, can be an easy way.
Here a link (just as an example, of course: the place is an ocean too far...)

http://www.matterlab.it/taglio_laser/it/82-taglio-laser

The only limit is the cad file, but if you choose that way I'm sure David can send you the dxf, too (or I can do it for you, I work with AutoCad)
Ciao!

Design the hexes and they will cut them. No minimu. Low cost.

These are quite tempting, but it requires photoshop-like technical know-how that I do not have. I would prefer it, but the litko option might be best for me.
