So I'm in the process of unwrapping my brand new copy of Eminent Domain, and it suddenly hits me, "Wait, are those clouds? In space?"

(EDIT: there were some "clouds" in my space when I originally asked this question)

1.
ASTRONOMY

Yes. Those are clouds in space.

Interesting. Didn't need the dictionary definition, though.

Nothing pedantic about your response to this really strange thread.

"Clouds in space????"
"yeah, that's a thing, they're called nebula"
"woah, slow down there, I'm not stupid"

Warp core breach?

But be thankful for that cover, just look what they did to the German version: gulp

No wonder, that the game was a flop in Germany!

The smoke from a spaceship actually crossed my mind (and I hoped someone would say that)...cool

It was a bit of a brain fart on my part to forget ever seeing actual images of nebulas. My primary point still sorta remains - it is indeed a lovely box cover, though.

We played the game soon after I unwrapped the box - my second time - and we all enjoyed ourselves. BUT GUYS, seriously:

EVERY planet is surrounded by nebulas in this game. I have to say, I have seen images of planets in our solar system and I have seen images of nebulas, but I have yet to see planets framed with nebulas in the manner as this game presents it.

Just saying. It's an aesthetic complaint veiled in interstellar ignorance.

Yeah, you did. You confused "cloud" and "nebula".

Hey Ron,

I agree that the box art for the German version is terrible. Sometimes simpler is better and that's true of the box in the English version of Eminent Domain.
