I had a much better week than last.

Monday
Patchwork x2. We split.

Tuesday
Harbour. I won big. After a few plays it's losing a bit of its luster for me. Not that it's bad but I think I'm going to just always rather being playing something else.

Wednesday
Firenze. I won.

Saturday
Lost Cities. I won.
Targi. She won on the tiebreaker.

Sunday
San Juan. She won big.
Suburbia. I won and it's still on the table for more games today.

I played Celestia a couple of times. It's a really beautiful, fun push-your-luck style game with some dice-rolling and bluffing. Great little game.

Also played an old school game of Masterpiece with my Father-in-law and the game really surprised me. Surprisingly pretty solid.

Machi Koro x1. This is going to be a rare one-and-done for me. It sounded interesting and has been on y wish list for a while. I had the opportunity to play someone else's copy this weekend and now see where the criticisms come from. It's not a bad game, but for me far too shallow and random (not a normal complaint for me). I think I've seen what there is in this game as far as strategy goes and no longer have any interest.

Mystic Vale x3. On the flip side, I've been hearing the buzz about this and had the opportunity to play this weekend (same event, same game library). The mere fact that I played 3 times over two days says something in itself. I really enjoyed the unique mechanic they came up with. This one is now on the wishlist.

Scythe x1. Mechanical Crimea manages to sneak out a win over Industrial Polania.

Karmaka x1. First play of the KS reward copy. Now my PnP can get tossed. This fits in the same timeframe (and less table space) than Machi Koro, yet has much more interesting decisions within it.

Steampunk Rally x1. Doc Braun vs Marconi. Doc got bogged down & moved slowly. Marconi managed to efficiently use a 4-5 card machine and pull out an early--and as it turns out insurmountable--lead.

Agricola - hadn't played for a while and really enjoyed getting it out again.

Skull - great little party / filler game. Hadn't played it before, and now really tempted to get it for the collection.

Isle of Skye - recently acquired and played for the first time. First impressions very good and looks like it has a lot of re-playability. I think this will get quite a bit of table time.

I'm curious to hear where this was originally, as this tends to be a topic that does start off in the right section

3 x Splendor

Not much, but did get to play this with my wife and brother in law who took to it like water. They both enjoyed it, but wanted to know why it was themed so 'dorky, with magic?'

I tried explaining the theme but to them it was a 'magic and dragon's game.
