Did we ever get anywhere with this? Ignoring US suppliers and their ridiculous postage rates, did we source a supplier for metal coins? I have an idea there may have been some Kickstarters come and gone but anything else?

It seems like every Kickstarter now has metal coins.

Personally, I can't stand them and wouldn't use them in any game (by my choice at least).

But yeah, there are various sources. Google turns up many options.

Wilth all due respect. I have googled. Several times. And I cannot find any suitable at a reasonable price.

Stonemaier Games makes coins:

Don't know when they'll be widely available though. Sounds like November.

I don't know what reasonable price means (particularly outside USA), but have you checked all these?

With EU friendly shipping. Excellent. That's bang on.
Cheers, Tony.

edit: Sorry Tony. Seems I did check. They have sold out.

Yes.

Weird. When I do that search, the Stonemeier one that you said is "bang on" was on the front page of results. Maybe Google changes the results when coming from UK.

Drawlab is based out of Greece. I backed both of their kickstarters and they are quality coins. I don't know what type of coins or what you are looking for, pricewise.

Have you tried the bank? They'll usually give you a bunch of metal coins in exchange for some bills.

Haha. Just what I was going to say.

Some countries do have coins made of aluminium and stuff. Might be worth checking out.

I bought someone's scythe coins off them and it was such a good decision.

We use them for every game with money involved and even for some games as vp's.

I would never go back.

Also, I watched Rahdo the other day, playing a game I had and was wondering why his money tokens looked so weird. I guess he doesn't have my coins.

Not sure but looks like shipping is about £1.25. Makes a change doesn't it? Unfortunately most of the designs are sold out. This site does have potential though - and one which didn't show up on the fabled google search (see above).

You might want to try US Postal flat rate boxes. The site http://skybluepink.com may have what you are looking for.

We bought a bag of metal replica doubloons from this website a few years ago to add to our Puerto Rico: Limited Anniversary Edition (and replace the cheap penny-looking things). https://www.greatamericancoincompany.com/other/pirate-coins.... They are pretty hefty and well made.

Board Game Extras in the UK has the Scythe metal coins on pre-order. They look quite good and although they're made especially for Scythe, I am sure they'll be good for other games.

http://www.boardgameextras.co.uk/item.php?id=26914&name=Scyt...

The mix if coins are: 1 (25), 3 (15), 5 (15), 10 (15), 20 (10) - 80 coins.

There was a link to the kickstarter in the search. I just received my pledge for the second kickstarter last week so those coins should be showing up on the site, soon. I would email them.

Note: these are both old kickstarters!
Here's the coins available in the first KS.
Here's the coins from the second KS.

Thanks Jonathan. You can see my problem though. Everywhere I look it is pre-order, sold out else stupid postage (and I mean really stupid).
Again, boardgamextras does have potential.
