While the big-guns duke it out in a dirty Decathlon, we will dip our fine toes
in the more subtle, balanced and elegant Heptathlon.

I have collected the Decathlon scores and will use these to determine the turn order
for the first event, the 100 Metre Hurdles:

1st) Alfred - 214
2nd) Lucas - 210
3rd) Robert - 207
4th) Erik - 196
5th) James - 186

Heyyy, Lucas and I get to start things off - which is not an advantage of course -
and allows us to set an example of play for the new event rules. You are obviously
free to use your own "tactics" though.

The motto as before... tie your hair in a ponytail and give that make up a last fix.
Let's get going ladies! kiss

Event order and rules:

Full Size: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/3174586/?size=original

Any questions on the new events? Please ask.

Enjoy!

PS: PBF records of very first Heptathlon... are here.

Doing a last make-up check... Ponytail? How lovely, not for me, Frieda wears her knot with pride... Enough babbling... GO!

100 Metre Hurdles:
16+12-2 = 26

Two hurdles toppled and chafed shins, not too bad. Time for a bath.

Good afternoon, ladies.

1st set, 1st roll:3d6 = (3 + 1 + 5) = 9
1st set, 2nd roll: 3d6 = (5 + 5 + 4) = 14--that looks like a keeper.

2nd set, 2nd roll: 3d6 = (6 + 2 + 2) = 10
2nd set, 3rd roll: 3d6 = (6 + 6 + 5) = 17--and I'll stop with that, naturally.

Scoring on this one is a little tricky. You rolled a 1 on the first roll, so your score is actually 31 - 1, or 30.

Yep, judge Stephen is correct, 30 it is. You need to subtract any 1's rolled, whether frozen or not. My own score above is a good example, open up the dice-rolls to see the details.
There's also a detailed example in the comments for the scoresheet.

Let's see if I have the stamina for 3 less events.

Set 1, Roll 1 Overall 3custom6{-1;2;3;4;5;6} = (4 + 2 + 6) = 12
I'll be fool hearty and aim for better.

Set 1, Roll 2 3custom6{-1;2;3;4;5;6} = (4 + 5 + 2) = 11
I'm going to regret this. I know it already.

Set 1, Roll 3 3custom6{-1;2;3;4;5;6} = (6 + 6 + 3) = 15

Love it. Love it. Freezing the 15.

Set 2, Roll 4 3custom6{-1;2;3;4;5;6} = (4 + 6 + 5) = 15

That's a healthy start!

Event total: 30

Well Erica, we'll let that result stand because you didn't roll any 1's. But, [1] does not always equal -1, so that custom dice cleverness does not match the rules.

Effectively, a frozen [1] (as in my own result) counts as 0.

Basically, you need to roll 2 sets of standard 3d6, add-up frozen totals for both sets and substract the amount of [1] dice rolled. Hence in my case: 16 + 12 -2.

Right, time to redeem myself.

Set 1, Roll 1: 3d6 = (6 + 3 + 5) = 14 [14]
I'll keep that

Set 2, Roll 1: 3d6 = (5 + 1 + 1) = 7 [12]

Set 2, Roll 2: 3d6 = (3 + 1 + 3) = 7 [11]

Set 2, Roll 3: 3d6 = (5 + 6 + 6) = 17 [28]

It's Erika with a k.

Also, I'm not sure about that interpretation of the rule. It would be easier to just say ones count as zero.

Ah, yes, *OUCH!* ...*stop pulling my hair* - SORRY SORRY, Erika it is. kiss

Interpretation? I'm neither suffering from split personality nor memory loss issues! laugh

Look at James' turn, above...
3d6 = (6 + 3 + 5) = 14
3d6 = (5 + 1 + 1) = 7
3d6 = (3 + 1 + 3) = 7
3d6 = (5 + 6 + 6) = 17

By your interpretation he would have scored 31.
By the rules (toppled hurdles) he has subtracted 3 for the three [1] rolled.
The later is as I intended. (Thanks James for that handy example. )

If my choice of words on the rulesheet was unclear, please let me know.

A few hurdles were toppled, but no broken legs or other serious injuries were sustained. Generally it was a very fast run with four of you beating the PBF record.
Let's raise the bar even higher and move on to the High Jump.

Turn order:
1st) 30 - Robert (BankofDracula) [tied]
1st) 30 - Erik (erak) [tied]
3rd) 29 - Lucas (woocash)
4th) 28 - James (solove)
5th) 26 - Alfred (Der Das)

Roberta, Erika, the first one of you who is present may as well go first. Dress code: tight and light.

To speed things up, please announce your starting height if you are not taking on the 10'.

Rules: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/3174586/?size=original

PS, I hope you enjoyed the new ruleset for the Hurdles.

Tight and light? You may not want to see this.

The way that I'm reading this is that you want me to just start even though I'm skipping 10 and 12. So...

Starting the High Jump at 14.

14 first attempt: 5d6 = (2 + 5 + 1 + 2 + 6) = 16

Oh yeah.

meeple Well, not quite, but shall we say that your way works too.

To remove any confusion... change of plan...
Take all of your desired jumps upto and including 14.

After that, at 16', we will proceed in a more orderly fashion. The guys raising/lowering the bar may go a bit crazy otherwise.

PS: no bonus points for skipping
