I am finishing up my study of the 2006 Edition rules and wondering how common three of the optional rules are used, namely:

1. Cavalry General Replacements (Pg. 20)

2. Special General Capabilities (Pg. 22)

3. Operations Queue (Pg. 46)

Are these popular? Are they used in casual play as much as tournament play?

In my 2 meager casual games, I think the operations queue is fantastic. I haven't tried out the other rules.

I'm about to start by second game (aka first real game) and was wondering about this as well.

The optinal rules are mandatory in tournaments and used regularly in ACTS games that I have browsed. So you could use "optional"

One of these special rules allows the Grierson's Raid card to use the NE Alabama hexes in turns 12 and 13 to simulate Wilson's Raid. Now that there is actually a Wilson's Raid card included in the new cards, does this rule still apply?
