Hi!

According to this post -

we know that the new condition card will be the "mesmerized".
My opininon is that you will lose one or more clue tokens when you gain this condition.

Speculation:
-In the game (at this point), there aren't so many effects/events cause to lose clues.

-Akachi Onyele's abiliy (Effects cannot cause you to discard clue tokens), maybe serve as a counter for mesmerized condition. Otherwise it's a very incidental ability. (I would prefer a more thematical ability for a shaman, instead. But maybe that's just me.)

Maybe the investigator will move one space toward the mesmerizing monster?

Sounds like an effect not a condition. As for discarding clues, this could be done with new damage/horror cards

Well if you insist!

On that trail of thought maybe it forces you to hinder the investigation for a turn. Something like "on your next turn you must move towards and attack the nearest investigator within range, then discard this card."

How would you go about attacking another investigator?


Your strength (hit) vs their agility (dodge)? I dunno it was just an idea and also we have seen the card now anyway.

We were playing the first core scenario today and a Star Spawn effect instructed us to use a Mesmerized condition, even though I didn't have BTT in my collection. So we can conclude that some BTT stuff has a chance to be included in other scenarios, but also that the collections are a little buggy!

Hah! We had that happen as well! The DLC map I got played a little buggily. It told me to take Mesmerized (we just did Dazed instead), had a little bug where an explore token wouldn't go away (we revealed the next tile, it just didn't go even when we clicked on it and said to explore), and at one point instead of the usual preform ritual text box popping up we got some text along the lines of "INPUT_ERROR_SOMETHING" (it still let us preform the ritual luckily)
