It was Essen week, so quite a few games on the list this time

But first... Sunday the 9th had the first edition of a small convention a five-minute drive from where I live. I went there alone, but only stayed for about an hour. I did pick up a complete, near-mint ex-demo copy of Through the Desert for only 5€, though
So on Monday, GF and I played two games of Through the Desert. What a fun game! We both really liked it, and the pastel camels are awesome! She won the first, I won the second. Which is nice, since I usually win first plays

Tuesday until and including Thursday: NOTHING! GF was school-stressed and I had other things to do than solo gaming.

On Friday we went to Essen. I've been going for over a decade, but for my GF it was the first time. What was new for me, however, was that we went two days instead of one
We started out at the Queen Games stand to play a game of Push a Monster, a silly-looking children's dexterity game. It looked funny, and it was. So even though we're not really looking for children's games, we had a great time.
After that, we stopped at a table to play a round of Pick-a-Polar Bear. I had seen this one before, but never played it. Playing it was fun, and we loved the artwork, so I picked up a copy. Can't go wrong for 8€, right?
When we were getting a bit tired, we stopped at the stand of Project Kells: Sacred Hill, High Kings of Tara & Poisoned Chalice to check out their new Knotiverse puzzle. To be honest, we stopped because they had empty seats. But my GF really liked the puzzle. I played the game and ended up buying it. The puzzle will be on KS later, so I signed up for the newsletter.
While heading out, we stopped at a table to play 3 Wishes. We played a single round. It was okay, but nothing that I would want to buy.
In our hotel room, we played a quick round of PitchCar, which I bought at the fair. But GF was too tired, so we stopped after a single lap.

Saturday was busier, so less time for gaming. We stopped for a demo game of Crabs!, just because the artwork looked so silly. Surprisingly fun and interesting for a short filler, so we grabbed it
Most of the rest of this day was spent just enjoying the fair. But by the end of the day, we found an empty table for Ice Cool. We had tons and tons of fun with that one, so we ended up grabbing a copy.

So... What about gamers' games!? Well, I went home with, I think, 36 new games and expansions. But when I only have two days at the fair, I'm not going to sit down for an hour to play a longer game. So next week will have more 'serious' Euros and such

Finally got to play Indonesia. What a great game. First game I have wanted to add to my collection in a while. The bits and map could use an upgrade but I love the mechanics.

Also played Cry Havoc. This one I didn't love as much but am willing to give it another try.

Infinity | 4p | about an hour?
A very nice game, especially from the 60s.

I'm adding this to my "great games before the 90s" list, of which Careers is also on there (even though I own the 2003 version)
