Does the first player marker stay with the same player through the whole game? Does it ever change

It's irrelevant as there are no "rounds" in the game. People just keep taking their turns either placing their workers or retrieving them.

I've played this game a dozen times or so, and didn't know there was a first player marker. What's it look like?

Armchair warriors often fail, and we've been poisoned by these fairy tales.

I use it more as a current player marker.

Right, the start player card doesn't rotate or move. Just there as a remember who started the game.

Not entirely true... it's to remember who started the game as players keep playing till EVERYONE has had equal turns. Getting past 10 points only triggers the game end, others might be able to take a turn and still beat them.

During play testing several people said they'd like a start player token to remember who took the first turn.

Question is about regular MP, not Chain Reaction.

Oh, oops... I missed that cause the Minion Games published version of MP does not contain a start player token. I think they tossed one in the German/French Asmode version I think they did include one - which serves literally zero purpose.
