Yes, I have 'Ketchup' too upon MEIN at times too, yet at them 'stands' I'll 'partake' for whatever these have. What are SOME "Toppings" you've seen made available around where you're at?

Really only one thing to put on a hot dog, and that's mustard, maybe some finely chopped raw onion.

Ketchup on hot dogs is un-American. Putin pays people to put that crap on hot dogs, and say they like it.

I have a standard set of toppings when I go to the local 7-Eleven, consisting of chili, nacho cheese sauce, and pico de gallo.

Lotsa 'gourmet' burger joints now on the UK, but sadly I cannot find a place that does a decent dog

My preference: chilli con carne, raw onion, american mustard.

First I remove the bun and use a taco shell. Then I replace the hot dog with spicy hamburger meat. Then I like to add hot sauce, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes...

RI has its own special variety, called confusingly a New York system wiener, that is topped with a ground meat sauce, chopped raw onions, mustard, and celery salt.

(Sweet pickle) Relish-- the more unnatural the green, the better.
A bit of mustard. And a sour pickle slice, if you have one.

Also acceptable: Chili & cheese (and mustard)

Ketchup on a hot dog is as gross as my wife putting ketchup on Galumpkis.

Depends on what kind of hot dog you are going for. A Chicago hot dog or one from Flint/Detroit are rather different. A basic one for me tends to be mustard, onions, and relish.

For some reason I have always enjoyed chili-cheese dogs from Dairy Queen.
This might be because I have very bad taste in food.

There is only one answer to this question: brown mustard and 'kraut.

That is all.

(Ketchup on a dog is bad, but not as bad, IMO, as mustard on a burger. And these people who put both ketchup and mustard on a sandwich? What, were you raised in a barn??? shake

1) Montréal-syle "steamé all dressed": yellow mustard, raw onion, relish, and coleslaw (but not the creamy kind!)

2) "Whistle dog": processed cheese, bacon, relish, optional onions.

3) "Japa-dog" stlye: coleslaw, pickled ginger, sriracha, shallots, with soya sauce infused weiner.

Leave off the ketchup and add tomatoes wedges (or pico de gallo) plus relish (preferably the neon green variety), onion, sport peppers, spicy mustard and celery salt all wrapped up in a poppy seed bun.

Alternately top with chili, cheese, onion and jalapenos.

(I'm not a fan of the kraut varieties.)

As an alternative to the above, I'd also be happy with brown mustard and Sabrett's onion sauce (if ever I could find some out here in L.A.).

Oh, and you need to score the dog lengthwise BEFORE adding the toppings.

Bun should be slightly toasted and warm.
