We very much enjoyed playing this. The theme was engaging and consistent and each of the moves that the dice rolls represented corresponded well with the Elemental Shamans.
There were SO MANY DICE! My son particularly enjoyed the "steal dice" aspect as this led to frequent instances of him having almost all my dice and his too. As a Warhammer 40k player he loves rolling large numbers of dice at once for the pure pleasure of rolling.
We played both the 2 player and the 3 player options, we were t able to get together a fourth player and play however.
We liked the tug of war aspect of the two player game and the fact that the flip side of the board was used to represent the rolls available. Although we did feel that there ought to be a halt point to prevent too much dice theft as there can reach a point where you don't have enough dice left to complete any rolls.
Best tactics for the two player game seem to be collect and steal dice early to solidify your position and make locking in the combos possible and comfortable. This also increases the dual aspect of it as it makes it feel like you're actually battling the other player for supremacy, not just racing to be the first to make certain rolls.
The 3 player game was also very enjoyable and had a different flavour to the 2 player. We liked the competition and the different skills that each shaman had and felt that although the earth shaman had a bit of an advantage it was minimised depending on the style of play that each player had.
The components were all excellent, the bag in which the dice are stored is awesome! The logos on the dice are clear and specific and easily discerned from each other. The shamans are great characters and the boards are bold and attractive.
Top stuff. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an enjoyable entry level to intermediate dice game. Great with children and adults or any combination of both.
