Carcassonne will win because TTR has two spaces in the name, spaces are weak spots, and 2 > 0.

You know it's true, because I used math.

Ticket to Ride was a popular Beatles song. Carcassonne was not.

Pffff, this is like voting to kill Mickey Mouse or Scooby Doo.

I thought it was impossible to answer, then I voted for which one I play more.

Carcassonne.

Sorry, Ticket, I love you!

If TTR was Carcassonne, you would play the game then the winner is the person with the most trains down...every tile in Carcassonne is a point...finished or not. The only real meat are the farmers.

TTR wins!

The one who makes/gives you more money when you're older, obviously.

I can't stand TtR, Love Carcassonne.

You gotta listen to the real early German bootlegs to find the Carcassonne cuts.

For me, Carcassonne was the anti-gateway. I played it when in came out and it kept me away from tabletop for over a decade!

Carcassonne is;
- As easy to learn as TTR,
- Has much more replayability and variation,
- Much greater depth of strategy,
- A better asthetic to draw new gamers in,
- Plus it's usually cheaper.

No contest.

Ah gateway games, I remember when those were a thing. These days people have realized there is no need for gateway games. People can dive right into any board games they want with ease. But out of these 2 crappy gateway games, Carcassonne is clearly the least crap.

Carcassonne is like Star Wars Wookies while Ticket To Ride is Palpatine.

If the wookies were on Endor during the fight, the ewoks would not have needed to die and would not have needed to be in the movie. Palpatine however, just basically wanted to destroy the Wookies, which was as bad and evil as you could get.
Imagine a universe without the need to put ewoks in danger where they don't even need to be brought to the front line (so we didn't need to even see them)? That only occured because Palpatine cast aside the Wookies.

In short: if you liked Chewbacca on Endor, Carcassonne is clearly the best game!

Well obviously your favorite child is the one that likes games most.

or

The one that gives you pity wins when he/she can crush you at all games.

Dislike Ticket to Ride. My friends/family heavily dislike Ticket to Ride. My non-gamer father criticized the lack of strategic depth. Carcassonne doesn't blow me away, but it's decent.
