Hi,

I teach a 7th and 8th grade us history class and I have been looking for an in print game that simulates an election well for a group of players. I have 7 students in the class and I could easily put them in teams if necessary. Not many of them are gamers really, but last year I was able to walk them through a game of age of empires 3. So complexity no higher than that game would be good.

Any recommendations?

"In print" because it is PnP with a single sheet of paper, and I would judge as both age suitable and relevant: Run for President.

Exciting might be something else, but still worthwhile:
Watch all the Election returns without having to stay up the whole night.

An obvious one (it's oop but cheap second hand) is one of the games from Playing Politics.

Written by a politics professor and the games are deliberately written to be both fun and educational.
