I have to say this is a wonderful game, with an attention to detail so loving that it makes it hard to rate the gameplay rationally. If you haven't played it, I highly recommend you stop reading here, order it, and come back when you've played up to Mission 3.
There are a few situations that we ran into in Mission 3 when fighting the Boss:
- When moving the Boss, it's treated like a mech in terms of pushing other mechs. However, it's unclear what should happen when it moves into minions. Do the minions get pushed? Are they killed? If they are killed, does this count towards minion kill progress?
From the FAQ:
MvM FAQ wrote:
Boss Movement: The Boss stomps Minions flat if it moves onto them. Count these kills on the Minion Kill Tracker! Also, the Boss ignores Oil Slicks. And if the boss must move toward a certain player and two options are available, the first player gets to choose the route he takes—both directions are eligible as long as he’s moving closer.
- The Rune Shields are deactivated when "stepping on" a rune tile of the corresponding color. Instances of that damage type then immediately reactivate shield. We took these two rules to mean moving onto the tile deactivated the shield, and subsequent damage reactivated it. Remaining on the tile does NOT keep the shield deactivated, nor does a player ending his turn on the tile or anything like that. i.e. Only moving onto the tile deactivates the shield. Is this correct?
