Seems like it's a well-regarded game and the German version still continues to be in print? What's the story behind the English version?

I don't know, but if you can get the German version, get it. We have it and have no problem playing the game with the rules printed from the files section here at BGG.

The story behind the English version in the US is that it is handled by ZMan games and Zman is notoriously bad at keeping titles in print as they consistently underestimate demand.

I emailed them about a reprint months ago and they never responded. That says enough about Zman to answer your question. shake

Zman deemed it wasn't cost effective to do a printing of.

Which is odd since the German version is cheaper and keeps getting printed...

I don't know, but have a feeling that Zman are out of touch with their customer base.

A dangerous place for any business to be, if true....

At Essen they were unloading German copies for 10 Euro. Couldn't believe it.

It started on 18€ and was then further lowered to 10. Last year it was for sale at 21.

16.99Euro on Amazon.de. Just bought a few to import here and give out to people on reddit! The game is great, but the people charging $90-$150USD are outrageous, when you can easily import it brand new for around $45USD. But, such is the BGGMarket :-)
