I'm trying to find the 'holes' in my collection. Basically, situations where I'm looking at the selves and I am saying to myself, 'Nothing here fits the people/mood/situation.' In order to remedy this, I'm trying to define genres. Not genres like worker-placement, but more like:

Meaty Multiplayer Low Luck Strategy Games

or

High Player Count Dice Fest.

or

Game where people don't really need to pay attention to have a good time.

or

Solo War Game where I have 45 minutes including setup and tear down.

What genres would you add in this vein?

Nah, just your own genres. What types of games do you find get the most/least play? What genre holes do you have? Whatever really.

games where how well you do is dependent on your negotiating skills

high tactical, low long term strategy
and the opposite

chicken or bluffing types

large long games where you feel you've really made an impact at the end of the game

competitive gameplay but in the end no one cares about the score
