Just a question regarding the new info for the standard Imperial Officers "Order" special action. Since the new errata specifically states, "During a skirmish match, that figure gains 2 movements points." So we take that as, that ordered figure no longer interrupts to move the 2 spaces, rather, during that figures activation, if it moves, it can add an additional 2 spaces. Is that how its supposed to be interpreted?

Also, how does the community play with all the new deployment cards? Since its more beneficial to "forget" your cards with the new errata at home, do you guys make the rules at the start of a match as to whether all the new changes apply? Or do you just play with the cards that are on the table, ex: original Royal Guard. Any advice or discussion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There's a subtle difference between "moving 2 spaces" vs. "Gain 2 movement points" vs. "perform a move"

"moving 2 spaces" means you ignore enemy/difficult terrain's +1MP penalty, like Gaarkhan's Charge

"Gain 2 MP" means they must be spent immediately or lost

"Perform a move" means they gain MP equal to their speed

These 3 have different implications depending on context (campaign or skirmish). For example, General's Ranks doesn't work on regular IOs anymore since it's "gain MP" rather than "perform a move"

Casual skirmish at home? It depends.

Competitive skirmish/tournaments? All 5 erratas (r,eSabs, IO, r, eRGs) are in effect

When receiving movement points outside of your activation they must be spent immediate (as an interrupt) or they are lost. In that respect the mechanics of Order is not changed, just the number of movement points has been fixed to 2 in skirmish.

Whether the target figure can move 2 spaces depends on terrain and hostile figures. 2 movement points allows to move 2 spaces only when there's no difficult terrain and no hostile figures to block movement.

Ah, I see. That makes a lot of sense.

And I guess you can say we're playing casually, although one of the guys has been in Tournaments (and won), and always plays competitive.

Thanks for the insight.

Note though if you're playing casually, there's nothing preventing you from houseruling stuff if everyone wants to play casually

for example, you can ban Twin (Luke+Leia+other) for Rebels, Trooper spam (2 eStorm+other) for Empire. Not saying there's no counters to it, but these 2 are the most popular list base because they're easy & powerful to play with
