I recently bought a very used copy of Empire Builder with the board marked with a permanent marker. Before doing something I'm asking here if there is any solution to that problem.

Any ideas?

As with any solution, try it on a section of the board that might not be as critical.

Either that or treat this as a legacy game.

More seriously though, and I know this is sub optimal, but try a "print and play" board with a layer of laminate tat you can wipe clean each time.

Depending on where you got this game, it might also be prudent to seek advice from whence it came or even a partial refund.

Good luck, and I hope you get to play some crayon rails.

Usually, when this happens on a white board, it is said you just have to trace on the marked area with an erasable marker, then it all goes away when erasing. I've never tried it, but saw this piece of advice more than once.

If it's Sharpie, try rubbing alcohol.

This does work on whiteboards. I've done it many times. It sometimes takes multiple passes, though.

There should be a Word Games Subdomain, or at least a Word Games Forum!

I've heard lemon juice also works, but I haven't tried it myself.

It is possible to order a laminated flay map from Mayfair direct for $12:

Then always play under plexiglass with wet erase markers.
