So you have 4 persons. Player A wins turn order tile 1,
Player B earns tile 2, Player C earns 3+ with purple meeple.
Player D didn't bid or win a bid.

So A chooses a boat & contents 1st,
Then B chooses, then C.

Player C also gets the purple 1st turn marker.

Player C takes his turn 1st on next round. Then
who goes next ? Go clockwise ? Maintain previous
turn order for remaining 3 ? Or ?

Thanks.

Play goes clockwise from the purple guy. This is described at the bottom of page 3 in the rulebook.

One other clarification if you have a game with 6 players. After the 1st player / 4th boat selection winner chooses their boat, players that have not yet chosen a boat do so in clockwise order based on the NEW first player.

The only thing you are going to see, is the burning hand of overdue justice.

... if the NEW first player bid on the purple meeple hex. Otherwise they take the boats in clockwise order based on the old first player and the the new first player (left from the old First player) gets the purple meeple.

(This is the game with the most complex rule about turn order I have seen so far.)

. . . give a ship.

It would be helpful not to think of them as "turn order tiles" but "boat picking order tiles."

you're right. i left out that exception and the turn order / boat selection rules do get weird once you have more than 4 players. That's probably a minority of games but it's hard to get right the first few times.
