I just got this game and it's lovely.
But randomizing the tiles is a bit tough.

I think it would have been great to give a cloth bag to put the tiles into and pull out the tiles from there.

Anyway, this game is pretty good.

Played with the wife and the scores are close.

Tonight I will be taking it to play with more friends.

I practiced tile shuffling for a good 10-15 minutes once while waiting to start a game of Lanterns. No more scrambling tiles facedown on the table or bags needed here! It doesn't take too long to become semi-proficient at it, either!

The shuffling looks like this:

I agree, i think that the two solutions are:

1) big cloth bag
2) random number generator app (but you have to find the tile in the stack and you have to re-organize the pile every game).

My technique for shuffling tiles like these proficiently is to separate the tiles into a few stacks, then take tiles from the top of each stack randomly to form new stacks. Do this a few times and it does a good shuffle fairly quickly.
