Are impassable hexsides considered impassable when calculating air ranges? e.g. Is Paris within TAC Ground Support range if the nearest airfield is in UK reserve?

Good question! I will add it to the next update of the Errata/Clarifications/FAQ file.

Concerning Air Range from UK reserve box.

For the range calculation must the first hex be a beach head ?

E.g : can we place a ground support on Brussels or Ardennes ?

Any hex adjacent to the Reserve Box.

I thought that the air range from an Alklied reserve box had to be calculated through an active beachhed hex (not through any adjacent hex). I will add this to the Errata/Clarifications/FAQ file.

Sorry Michael, I need further clarification.

When the rules say:
"Any hex adjacent to either the United Kingdom Reserve Box or the North African Reserve Box, or within three hexes of an Airfield Marker."

Does it mean -literally- ANY hex adjacent to a Reserve Box? Or just any active Beachhead adjacent to a Reserve Box?
In the first case, the hexes adjacent to the U.K. Reserve would be: St. Brieuc, Cherbourg, Le Havre, Amiens and Channel Ports (apart from any active beachhead).

When tracing air range from the permanent airfield in a Reserve Box, do you trace it through an active beachhead or through any adjacent hex (as mentioned above)?

Thanks!

David

First question: Literal. The text says hex, not Beach Head hex.

Second question: There is nothing in the rules requiring air power to trace through a Beach Head.

The Ardennes cannot trace three hexes to the UK Reserve box.

The TAC range runs through Nantes-Le Mans-Chartres-Paris-Lille-Ostend-Scheldt.

Thanks for the answers but I am still lost.

How can Nantes be in the TAC range and not The Ardennes ? (I am assuming that beach-head hexes are not part of the reserve box).

The only 3 hex path for reaching Nantes is Cherbourg (1) - Rennes (2) - Nantes (3)

For the Ardennes : Amiens (1) - Lille (2) - Ardennes (3)

Ups! Jwel is right, I did not check Michael's previous message, and -after his last answer- I also do not understand why The Ardennes is not in the air radius of the permanent airbase in U.K. Reserve. There is a three hex path from the Reserve Box through an adjacent hex: Amiens -> Lille -> Ardennes...

Alright I deleted my past posts to avoid any confusion.

TAC range on the published map was slightly different than the prototype map.

All of the following hexes are capable of tracing three hexes to the UK Reserve Box:

Brest, St. Brieuc, St. Nazaire, Nantes, Rennes, Cherbourg, Le Mans, Falaise, Tours, Chartres, Orleans, Paris, Le Havre, Reims, Lille, Amiens, Ardennes, Brussels, Ostend, Channel Ports, Antwerp, The Scheldt, Amsterdam.
