I realize this is off topic, but I'm hoping some of you fans can help me out. Thanks!

Assume I mean the 2004-2009 version, but if you know the answer for both instances of the show, by all mean say both.

It just says "a squadron"

You might be able to figure it out by going through these:

Oops, higher up on that first page it says a Squadron of 40

I read somewhere that some capital ships were several stories tall and could house up to a thousand vipers! However, don't remember which series it was from, and I don't think it was a Battlestar, unless they had a different configuration from previous wars with the cylons.

Going by the math (using 40 in a squadron), you'd have up to 200 plastic, mII vipers to work with

Since you brought it up, I'm also wondering how many mVII vipers there were. Those are special though because they had to have their CNPs (Computer Navigation Program?) taken out since the cylons can hack those. Without the aid of that (which is what allowed nuggets to kick ass), only experienced pilots like Apollo and Starbuck could really make full use out of them.
