We are playing a five player game. I will be using spoiler tags for the Captain's Booke entries, just to be safe.

Color assignments:
Players are TJ, Matt, JP, Gary and Mark.
Random color assignment :
TJ will be 1custom5{Red;Blue;Green;Grey;Purple} -> ( Blue) -> ( Blue)
Matt will be 1custom4{Red;Green;Grey;Purple} -> ( Purple) -> ( Purple)
JP will be 1custom3{Red;Green;Grey} -> ( Green) -> ( Green)
Gary will be 1custom2{Red;Grey} -> ( Grey) -> ( Grey)
Therefore, Mark will be Red

The Lord, going first is 1custom5{Red;Blue;Green;Grey;Purple} -> ( Green) -> ( Green)
The Baron, going second, is 1custom4{Red;Blue;Grey;Purple} -> ( Blue) -> ( Blue)
The Count, going third is 1custom3{Red;Grey;Purple} -> ( Grey) -> ( Grey)
The Duke, going fourth is 1custom2{Red;Purple} -> ( Purple) -> ( Purple)
The Prince going 5th therefore is RED.

We don't need the Leader cards for the Prologue. Just note that each player has no appelation, reputation = 2 and fortune = 2.

There are four milestones to achieve in the Prologue:
First player to a multiple of 3, 6, 9 or 12:
• Name an unnamed island.
• Go to entry 395.

Second multiple of 3, 6, 9 or 12:
• Name an unnamed island.
• Go to entry 301.

Third multiple of 3, 6, 9 or 12:
• Name an unnamed island.
• Go to entry 406.

Fourth multiple of 3, 6, 9 or 12:
• Name the last unnamed island.
• Go to entry 404.

Starting map:


To edit the map yourself, grab an original size and edit it with MS Paint, or any other image editor that you have. For the prologue, just moving the ship images around using cut and paste will suffice.

When moving your ship, just state where it currently is, how many spaces that it will/can move, and indicate where it ends up. Designate the locations like this:
•Large ship moves from home province port, moving 2 spaces, to column 1, hex 9 (near island #2)
•Large ship moves from home province port, moving 2 spaces, to Island #1.
•Small ship moves from Coastal Waters, moving three spaces, to the open sea hex in column 3, hex 5 (near island #4).

Islands will be referred to by the column that they are in, even after being named. Here are island 1, 2, 3, and 4, click on it to see a bigger image:


I will mark the sites with the appropriate updates as they occur. Here is a a sample marked island:


When you explore a site on an island, declare "take the Explore endeavor on Island #4 at the 5-anchor site." Here is an example of rolling the dice for the endeavor, with 5 dice:

I would now reply, bolding and underlining what I gain, and sites explored so that we can record it, and find it easy if we need to go back:

Yes, random Explorer's Map site selection, and random choice one or choice two. I've played thru the prologue and Game 1, and all the 3 and 4 sites were "explored", so I know the better of the two with most of them. Just to keep it fair for those that have not played yet, or have not gotten that far, we should all randomize which choice we make.

On second thought, I will randomly select for myself. If anyone wants to choose for themselves, I will take it on their honor that they really don't know the result. If you don't have the Captain's Booke, I will look up the exploration entry, post it in Spoilers, and then when the player makes their choice, post the selected entry in Spoilers as well. That way anyone who wants to see how the game works, but doesn't want the fun of the Captain's Booke exposed, can follow along. This will help others fine tune the PBF method as well.
