I'm asking this question in a couple of forums.

Recently I saw a comment in the Hostage Negotiator forums suggesting the engraved dice may give disproportionate results. Another post on the topic analyzing 100 rolls of all six dice seemed to disprove that. It showed a relatively even distribution with just a minor deviation in favor of the fifth die face.

I know it can "feel" like dice are against you in any game but has anyone tried an empirical experiment with the dice in this game?

If they are not made with the same consciousness as casino dice, yes casual board game engraved dice may have a tiny minuscule small unbalance, because the engravings can cause tiny minuscule small uneven distributions of the weight over the 6 sides. This is the same physics principle for loaded dice used in cheating the odds in gambling games.

It's critical in gambling games, but in board game, seriously, who cares?

It seemed to me that I was rolling too many attack symbols, so one day I decided to do 100 rolls of all 3 black dice together (expected outcome: 1/3 chance/die*3 so average 1 attack symbol per roll). I ended up with an average of 1.31 attack symbols roll. My results passed a 95% confidence interval test that they rolled more attack symbols than they should.

To make sure it wasn't just something strange of my rolling technique, I did a similar 100-roll test with my dice from Ghost Stories (not engraved, also 1/3 chance/die for a given result to be rolled), and got exactly the expected value of 1 on those rolls...
