It's on the side of your McTorso. Under a thick, thick layer of McRib.

Oddly I don't really gain weight very fast that way.

Though agreed there's a lot of fat in one of those BBQ-slathered gems.....

Eat the McRib, throw away the bun. You'll be fine.

Hah...I always have them toast it a bit extra. But no pickles...I really think they take away from it a bit.

Actually in the most controlled study done so far (the subjects basically lived in a bubble where all food and exercise were strictly regulated), a low-fat diet pretty handily outperformed a low-carb diet.

NIH study finds cutting dietary fat reduces body fat more than cutting carbs

But even though we can send probes out past Pluto and access the world's knowledge from a device held in our hand, it's amazing that we don't really know the answer to that seemingly simple question--even though we have billions of people eating food every day.

I don't understand the McRib. It's supremely gross.

I assume it's seasonal as there's enough of a cult following to keep it around?

I admit that the way the meat is formed is charming.

That's a good lab study but a poor field study -- the benefit of low carb (for me personally) is I don't feel godawful hungry literally all the time. So if I was in a lab and being paid to participate on a strict monitored regimen, I'd do better on low fat, but essentially on my own, low-carb works better.

I believe the data is starting to fall that way, even though I would expect it's a lot more idiosyncratic on what works for which person -- e.g. some people will have an easier time giving up carbohydrates (me,) and some people will have an easier time giving up high-fat stuff, etc.

Says the person who lives in a country where poutine is considered a national treasure, and where they have fast-food restaurants dedicated to such an abomination of flavors!

Blech!

Taking cuisine advice from a Canadian is like purchasing an air conditioner unit made in Iceland!

I beg to disagree! The pancakes are the best of any fast food restaurant (although I don't know of other fast food restaurants that have pancakes). Regardless, their pancakes are a bazillion times better than any of their mcmuffin choices.

Poutine: Also gross!

Is this the gross food thread now?

Considering that it started with a discussion about the McRib, I would have to answer your question with an emphatic NO. It was always the gross food thread!
