This email just went out to all confirmed BGG.CON 2016 registrations.

If you didn't get it, check your spam filter. If you didn't get it, ask the person who registered your badge to forward it on to you. If neither of those apply and you think you should have gotten it, please contact me: jeff@boardgamegeek.com

Saddle up! We gotta ride and find the rest of our posse at BGG.CON 2016.

Please read this ENTIRE email. It contains IMPORTANT INFORMATION, some of which is NEW this year!

If you've passed your registration on to someone else, please forward this message on to them. And if you have registered multiple badges, please make sure each of your attendees gets this information.

Registration Process
--------------------
First off, the MOST IMPORTANT THING. Just like years past, each attendee is required to bring a printed copy of the confirmation email showing their badge information listed. To be clear, that’s one printed copy for each badge-holder, not just one per registration. So that means you need to forward your confirmation email to each person whose badge is listed on your registration.

The deadline for editing your badges is this Friday, November 4th at 8pm CST. You can edit your badges here:
https://boardgamegeek.com/bggconbadge/list/#### (your registration id)
Your password: ********
There you can also get a new copy of your email confirmation by clicking the button labeled “Resend Verification Email”. Please print enough copies for each of your badges, or forward that email to the individual badge-holders and instruct them to print it out for themselves.

After the badge editing deadline this Friday, you can still get a copy of your confirmation email by clicking here:
https://boardgamegeek.com/bggcon/reginfo/#### (your registration id)
(same password as above)

Please note that your confirmation email may end up in your spam filter, so please check there as well. If you have any problems, send an email to: bggcon@boardgamegeek.com

During registration, you will turn this piece of paper in as your ticket into the convention and then receive your badge and wristband.

The helpful registration attendant will assist you in securing your wristband and it must remain there for the duration of the convention. Please keep your badge visible at all times. Your badge *and* wristband together are required for all services at BGG.CON, including the Game Library, Exhibit Halls, Special Events, open-gaming rooms, and complimentary shuttle tickets for the Grapevine Shuttle sponsored by Rio Grande Games! Your badge is also your library card in the form of a printed barcode.

Replacement wristbands may be purchased at the check-in desk if you need to remove yours (sleep, work, etc.). This requires turning in the old wristband, showing a picture id with information that matches your badge, and paying the fee of $5.

Along with your badge you will find a door-prize ticket. At ANY TIME (not just when you get your badge) you can turn in half of that ticket to collect your door prizes. The initial registration Wednesday morning will take place in the Enterprise Foyer. After Wednesday around noon, badges and prizes can be picked up at the check-in desk. Keep the other half of that door-prize ticket for our grand finale prize giveaway on Saturday night at 7pm in the Enterprise Ballroom. You must be present to win.

Also included with your badge is a GeekBuzz login card. Scan the QR code and enter the code on this card using your smartphone to rate games you play as you play. Or you can use the code on the card at the GeekBuzz stations in the Enterprise Foyer to “Like” the games you’ve been playing. We’ll have a constantly updating Leaderboard in the Enterprise Foyer for you to see what other gamers are “liking”.

Schedule
--------
The 2016 BGG.CON schedule has been posted here: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/BGGCON_Official_Sche...#
Be sure to check out the many exciting events there with more descriptions listed here:
https://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/BGGCON_Special_Event...#

Sign-up sheets for all space-limited events will be available 24 hours before the event begins near the check-in desk. You will only be allowed to sign up yourself and ONE other person for all events except for Puzzle Hunt, Game Show, and Spiel-a-Thon where one person can sign up their entire team of four.

One new adjustment to the schedule this year - while the convention begins on Wednesday, the exhibit halls will be closed to the public that day. Access will be granted only to those with exhibitor and media badges. The exhibit halls will open to the public on Thursday at 10am.

Volunteering Opportunities
--------------------------
This convention would just not be possible without the great effort of our wonderful volunteers. Be sure to thank Team Geek in the gray/white jerseys for all they do to help make this show run so smoothly.

And if you are so inclined, we’d love to have your help by donating an hour or two in our library. It’s a great way to meet new people and see what’s hot this year.

To sign up for a shift in the library, or to learn more about what it entails (it’s really easy, no worries), go here: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1649833/bggcon-2016-library...

This year we are especially in need of filling library shifts Saturday evening and on Sunday.

And help us tune up the library just right by participating with these GeekLists:
https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/216408/vote-hot-games-bgg...
https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/216407/rescue-me-games-pu...

Parking Validation
------------------
This text comes directly from the airport:
“Upon entering the airport gates, you will want to enter through the TICKET ONLY lanes located at both the north and south entrance. You will receive a ticket time stamping your entrance onto airport grounds. The hotel will validate all parking tickets at the front desk or bell stand. For the attendees with toll tags, you will want to disable your Toll Tag temporarily for use prior to entering DFW facilities. You can do this via NTTA’s website and/or via the use of the mobile app NTTA.”

As it applies to BGG.CON, be sure to get your ticket validated as you leave the convention rather than as you arrive because the validation process differs based on the amount of time you’ve been on-site. Be very clear with the concierge or the front desk how long you’ve been parked so that they use the correct validation process.

Other Info
----------
Be sure to look inside your goodie bag for some awesome prizes and game promos and you will also find your "Exhibitor BINGO Card" there - get GeekGold just for visiting our awesome exhibitors. If you blackout the whole card you’ll be entered into a special drawing for some really great prizes (one entry per person).

BGG.CON Events is dedicated to providing harassment-free convention experiences for everyone regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of convention attendees, exhibitors, volunteers or staff in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including special events or other sponsored activities. Attendees, exhibitors, volunteers or staff violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the convention without a refund at the discretion of the BGG Events Staff (Gold Jerseys). Our anti-harassment policy can be found at:
https://boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/BGG_Events_Harassment_Po...#

All that being said, we're looking forward to having a great convention and seeing everyone! If you have additional questions, please check out the wiki:

Is the standard you can use you phone for the email as long as you have it up and trust the volunteer to hold the phone in effect?

If I bought both badges on the email registration, does EACH person need a printed copy, or will one suffice with both names/registrations on it?

That's fine. I have a hole in my pocket where I store my phone. Enjoy your pizza.

I read that, but it seems it's talking about people who are not going to be in line together.

How does parking/validation work if you plan on coming and going out of the parking lot? Eating meals for instance.

Each time you are leaving the hotel parking, you need to get your parking ticket validated. The valet desk can validate if you've been on site <16 hours. If you've been there longer than 16 hours, you will need to get your ticket validated at the front desk.

They will validate for any BGG.CON attendee as many times as needed. However, it is up to you to make sure you get the proper validations for the time you were in their lot. If for some reason there is a problem at the toll booth on your way out of the airport, they will not let you through without paying any required balance. There is a process for getting this money refunded; however, it takes several weeks to receive the funds.

Since the validation is time dependent, it is VERY important to get your validation as you are leaving the hotel.

Hope this helps!

It isn't.

And I frankly have no idea how you could possibly interpret it that way. That whole section is *very* clear about what needs to be done.

Did this change this year? I've always had my ticket validated at the Concierge Desk just inside to the left and never had a problem.

Just watch the 16 hour limit, and check with the concierge if everything is okay. We typically pull in on Monday and don't leave again until Sunday, so we have to go to the front desk.

For the past two years, I've arrived on Tuesday and left on Sunday, and the valet/concierge desk near the front door (not the front desk) validated my parking for entire time period. Just be clear that you need it validated for a week, and not a shorter time period.
