Hi!
I would like to ask about the haunt 38. If a hero moves through/pass the room with bats, does he take damage or not?

Spoiler (click to reveal)
No, the bats do nothing on heroes' turns (not even obstruct movement); they do not deal damage and cannot be attacked.

On the traitor's turn, after all bats have been moved, they automatically deal one die of physical damage (per bat) to all heroes in their room. (This is not considered an attack.)

We just hit Haunt 38. In the traitors tome it seems to both indicate rolling for monster speed each round AND that monster speed is 3. The printing is a bit odd as the speed is at the top of the next column of text.

So does the traitor roll for monster speed each round, or is the speed 3 all the time?

Unlike Explorers, a Monster's Speed is not the number of spaces it can move on its turn but rather the number of dice rolled to determine how many spaces the Monster (or more accurately, all of the same type of Monster) can move each turn.

So both your statements are correct: the Monsters' Speed is 3, and the traitor would roll 3 dice to see how many spaces all of those Monsters could move that turn (minimum 1).
