Thanks.

Armor is a passive defense which applies against all damage (unless specified otherwise), unaffected by anything unless explicitly specified.

Justifications:

- Heroes' Book, page 7: "The Guard action is not affected by hindering", and application of Armor is explicitly part of the Guard action.

- i cannot possibly imagine that Armor should be affected by hindering (at least, not in a game which allows heroes to use a bow, a crossbow, a two-handed battleaxe, and a shield in the same turn).

No. Neither are guard rolls.

Thank you.

And, in falling damage the armor protected the character?

I started a thread to create a general game aid https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1652571/reminder-game-aid and in there are the actions that are affected by hindering. It's been made pretty by another BGGer and is up in the files area https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/138432/conan-rules-remind..., but also please post anything that is useful to add to it onto that thread.

Falling damage is scenario-specific, not a core rule, so this is necessarily scenario-specific (and no scenarios mention armor in this context). As written (e.g. "roll 2 Orange and take that much damage"), armor does not protect against it (you simply take some amount of damage). i think this could be argued either way, but, realistically, historic-style armor does not help much against falling damage because the energy from the fall is not effectively absorbed, but transferred through to the body wearing it.

Edit/correction: Heroes' Book page 19 describes falling damage and says that it may not be defended against, but that the dice rolled for damage may be rerolled via Reroll actions. Based on that wording ("cannot defend against falling"), i still have to assume that armor does not protect against it.
