I did search and didn't see much in the way of a discussion... so I'm going to ask!

I'm considering a broken token option for this game... as it seems throwing multiple base sets into one box with just baggies to sort will be really stupid. (Yes... I've ordered 2 base boxes... deal with it you "one box only" people!)

Is this my best bet?
http://www.thebrokentoken.com/compact-card-game-organizer/

Cause it's the compact box right?

Or would that just be dumb out the gate because of the number of cards that will be coming?

Hi,

If you plan on following the game (and having multiple core sets leads me to believe that is the case )

I would get one of these:

http://www.thebrokentoken.com/standard-sized-card-organizer-...

http://www.thebrokentoken.com/horizontal-card-organizer-for-...

and the needed artist case from Hobby Lobby (http://www.hobbylobby.com/Art-Supplies/Storage-Organization/...).

Also, don't forget the almost always available 40% off coupon for Hobby Lobby.

*edited to include the coupon info and link to artist case

It would be dumb if you planned on going all in on this game.

I would suggest this:
http://www.thebrokentoken.com/standard-sized-card-organizer-...

That is just the insert, you also need to go to Hobby Lobby and buy this:
http://www.hobbylobby.com/Art-Supplies/Storage-Organization/...

It is what I am doing.

Edit: Fixed Link

Mario,

Isn't this game using standard and not Euro sized cards? If so I hope the link was just a misplaced one and not the actual one that you got.

I've also got 2 core boxes and I went with the broken token compact organizer. I think it's great and you'll likely get 2 full cycles in the 2 core boxes this way.

The reason that I would go the route of the Artist Case is both for the price and overall storage space. You get more storage space (in one box) for the same cost of two of the compact organizers.

I plan on using a spare lord of the rings card game box and this:
http://www.thebrokentoken.com/unsleeved-card-game-organizer/

That holds well over 2000 cards so I should be good for a while. Doesn't fit thematically so I may just glue the box top on so I can tell the difference between the two, or just not care...then again if I really DO care may be if I can ever get my hands on a Call of Cthulhu box I'll just use that.

It is too bad fantasy flight moved away from those larger boxes. Those plus broken token organizers provide lots of storage, even sleeved ones still hold well over a thousand cards and for the Star Wars LCG, having two core sets, one became dark side storage, the other light and that got me through two cycles and several large box expansions.

I used the compact storage box with Warhammer ACG and I did not like it. Having cards at an angle made for awkward inserting and removing of cards, plus sometimes the cards would just slip under the section in front when you removed too many from a nicely packed group. Having the cards stand straight up is much better, imo.

I think I'm going to go with card binders for all the player cards, and some custom Tuck boxes for the various threat packs. I used binders for the Star Wars LCG, and it was just so incredibly nice flipping through to "shop".

This might be my route then. Thanks!

I looked at this option - but I can't shop at Hobby Lobby.

I think I'll start with the 1 broken token compact organizer... and just get an additional one for the second base box as I need etc.

I'll probably regret - but hey - it's what I'm going to roll with!

Investors cards will be in https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-9-Pocket-Trading-Pages/dp/B...

Unsure about what to do with the "campaign cards".
Maybe something as simple as ziplocs

Call me slow on the uptake... but what is the difference between these two organizers? It looks weird that the horizontal card organizer has 4 rows while the standard-sized organizer has room for 5 rows... But they both take same sized cards and fit in the same box? Do the cards lie flat and vertical in the standard-sized card organizer or something?

Standard sized http://www.thebrokentoken.com/standard-sized-card-organizer-...

Horizontal http://www.thebrokentoken.com/horizontal-card-organizer-for-...

Demystify this for me, please!

One holds cards upright... one holds them horizontal...?

EDIT: Or, if you prefer, one holds them ready, the other holds them exhausted

Same. I won't shop there, but I'd love to get an artists case. I wonder if they're available elsewhere online.

Broken Token sells it for $75 and it comes with the organizer ($27), so effectivly $48 for the case.

http://www.thebrokentoken.com/unfinished-wooden-artist-case-...

Apparently I sold my soul and got it on sale at Hobby Lobby for $18.

Not that I've found. Some of the insert makers sell their own cases, but they source them from HL. I've ended up buying 3 of them from HL so far for my Dominion collection. I've made 3 matching contributions to Planned Parenthood to offset my guilt.

So there's enough "headspace" for the cards to stand upright? Seems like a no brainer then. But when they're stored horizontally, that means there's a lot of extra room for the cards to bang around in there...

This is an expensive option... But I stumbled across a company in the UK recently that makes boxes (I found them for Arkham Horror):

Horizontal
Vertical
Vertical Plus

It sounds like they're newer, but there was one person who piped up in my Arkham Horror thread that had the LoTR ones and seemed happy with them.

Apparently you can customize the laser etching on the front.

Just my two cents, I like Broken Token and have a number of their products but I would not recommend the Compact Card Orgnizer. I understand why they designed them (to lower the profile) but those angled slots make it very difficult to remove cards and the box doesn't hold very many cards beyond the core.

Basically Wooden is another UK option as well. Also allows personalisation if that's your thing.

Guys, just a heads up: from people that already bought two cores I read that they barely fit in the core box. That is, for now a broken token and such may help but soon after the first deluxe things will not fit in anymore.

Whatever you plan on doing, understand that it will not last forever. The current card pool will soon double after all (and so will the storage requirements).

I've used the compact organizer with 40k conquest. The core box with the broken token organizer can hold a core, a deluxe, and one cycle of expansions. After that you're really pushing the core boxes limits.

Personally I am going with a binder for the Investigator cards and then create some foamcore in the core box for the threat/campaign decks.

I'm using a BCW shoe box sized card box, and labeled dividers for each section. Allows for quick deck editing, easy selection of encounter cards for scenarios and will have plenty of room for the first cycle + cores. As the game expands, I will be increasing the size of BCW box (they're cheap, so it makes it easy).

I'm doing this because I want quick and easy, portable, and as an added bonus it's cheap.
