It looks like a very interesting game. What I wonder is: is it worth buying the game if I'm only going to play solo?
Is there any AI, or do you move both sides' troops?

I've only played solo so far and just play both sides. There is no AI. Works for me

I agree with Mike, it plays solo very well and I'd say it is definitely worth buying even if you don't have anyone to play with.

People buy war games not for solo only?

I have more fun playing OD solo than with others. I strongly recommend buying it.

I treat each game like a puzzle I have to solve. In a way, it is similar to sudoku - you have to solve a problem by taking actions in particular order. Such problem solving tickles my brain just right and when I play both sides it`s twice the fun.
Besides, I don`t have to teach the rules which are a little heavy. Getting through all tutorials is IMO mandatory and will take 10+ hours. It`s hard to find somebody willing to invest so much time.

I've played solo and with two players. It works very well either way.

If you have the opportunity, it is a system best learned from someone who knows it. It flows quite well once you know it, but up until that point it can be bumpy.

As others have mentioned, there is no AI.

This is one of the best wargames at this scale I'm playing these days. I really enjoy it; hopefully you will too.

Received my copy today. Wow, what a massive content. So much to read, so much to learn. The holiday season is dedicated to the family...and Operation Dauntless. This I really look forward to.
